A Tribute to Miles Davis Set for 11/8 at the Driehaus Museum

Like the mansion and the collection that is housed in the Driehaus Museum, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra has a long, impressive, and artistic history. The same could be said for MiLes Davis, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. On Thursday, November 8, join a talented trio of Chicago Jazz Orchestra musicians in paying tribute to Davis in the Driehaus Museum's historic ballroom.
The performers-featuring Art Davis on trumpet and flugelhorn, Pete Benson on piano, and Dennis Carroll on bass-will focus on Davis in the mid- to late-1950s, when his music was synonymous with "cool" and his recordings of American Songbook standards regularly topped the jazz charts.
"The Chicago Jazz Orchestra will present this incredible trio of artists in the magnificent Driehaus Museum," says Travis Rosenthal, executive director of the Chicago Jazz Orchestra. "This combination of two of America's most storied art forms-jazz and architecture-will create a listening experience that is second to none in Chicago."
The performance will commence at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35. For additional information or to purchase tickets, please visit or call 312 482 8933, ext. 21.
