Out of this World Revival

The Alliance for Canadian Musicals will present 13 musical theatre productions in a free matinee preview at Scadding Court Community Centre's Flavours of the Game event in Toronto ahead of the Toronto Fringe Festival.

McKoy will direct and produce the world premiere of ANTIGONE 1989: A Town Hall Musical at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The production is an artistic expansion of McKoy’s decades-long commitment to the Bay Area theater community.

What is a pro-shot and how is it different than an adapted film? Pro-shot is an abbreviation for professionally shot, denoting a stage play that was captured in its native habitat: a theatre. In general, a pro-shot seeks to film the exact experience that audience members would have at a live performance of the show, in contrast with a feature film which actually adapts the piece into a new form, including different locations, the removal of theatrical aesthetic, and changes to make the script work as a film as opposed to as a live theatrical show.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announced its 40th Anniversary Season, featuring Shakespeare classics in repertory, a bilingual ROMEO Y JULIETA, the return of ILLINOISE, and the world premiere of HEARTBREAKERS.

The El Capitan Theatre, Disney’s home on Hollywood Boulevard, will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this month. To mark the occasion, a new archival display will be featured inside the theatre along with a new curtain show, soundtrack, and more.

Broadway has a long history of one-person shows, including many that have been added to the canon in this century.  Seeing one actor powerfully create a whole world on stage can be an exceptional experience. Of course, one handers are hardly one-person projects; while there may only be one actor on stage, they are collaborating with an entire team of creatives, designers, and behind-the-scenes personnel to bring a show to life. 

Lisa Ann Walter will make her Off-Broadway debut in Heathers the Musical! The Abbott Elementary star is joining the cast as Ms. Fleming and Veronica Sawyer's Mom. Walter joins the cast alongside Isabella Esler and John Cardoza.

BBC Radio 4's The Archers will mark its 75th anniversary this summer with a major live stage tour and Fane Productions have announced which members of the Radio 4 cast will be appearing live on stage.
