October 23 Zeitgeist: Bag Raiders
Bag Raiders are the combined talents of Jack Glass and Chris Stracey. Together, they produce the sparks of light, aural gems and sonic booms that make up one of the most sought-after duos on the planet. After dropping singles on Bang Gang 12s (Fun Punch, Turbo Love) and remixing the likes Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts and Kid Sister, the two's reputation internationally grew, and when they released a little ditty titled 'Shooting Stars' they reached every dangerous, dark and smoky corner of the world, making them a household name among in-the-know indie kids, the sweaty dance faithful and the DJs across the globe. Check out their recent remixes for BANKS, Kimbra and more here.

October 23 Feel Up Records CMJ Showcase: Jillionaire / Nick Hook / Richie Beretta / Boy/Friend / Teleseen / Clementine & The Galaxy [live] (in Cabaret Room)
With over 15 years of experience, Jillionaire has created a unique sound that is known and loved by the masses, mashing house and electro with the warm Caribbean rhythms of soca and dancehall. This uplifting and eclectic approach to music is collected under one roof with Feel Up Records, aiming to present a variety of sounds from around the world, to the world.

Alongside Diplo, Jillionaire is an integral member of Major Lazer's globe-trotting genre-bending live show, with a worldwide tour schedule in promotion of their latest album "Free The Universe." His solo career has also been moving at light speed, with headline gigs & tours across Europe, The UK, Asia/Australia, North and South America, guest mixes for BBC Radio 1 and MTV, a remix on Ultra and more releases in the pipeline.

Drawing influences from music as diverse as Ethiopian jazz, Afro house, samba and dub techno, Teleseen stitches a strikingly original blend of old and new sounds into a danceable mix. This year, Teleseen joins Feel Up Records with a new EP, 'Anamorph.' The latest project is a more dancefloor friendly offering that mixes his diverse influences into a stew that contains echoes both of classic New York City house and disco like Ron Trent and Trinidadian Deep, as well as the more modern sounds of Southern Africa like Shangaan Electro or DJ Malvado, and shades of Brazilian Batucada rhythms. Finally, a deep, dubby yet danceable sensibility with live horns, keys and percussion, completes the alchemy.

The longing in Julie Hardy's voice is palpable. It's a gorgeous voice, filled with warmth and pain, seemingly in contrast with the icy synths and computerized sounds that lurk behind her heartache. But within Clementine & The Galaxy, these two worlds meld together just fine. A retro/futuristic spin on pop, the Brooklyn duo craft evocative electro sounds with a human heart. Hardy may sing "I've been programmed not to miss you," but it's her soulfulness that propels the whooshing synths and cinematic flourishes of her bandmate/partner Mike MacAllister. This year, Clementine & The Galaxy will unveil their second EP, 'Midnight Machine,' on Feel Up Records.

October 24 Dusky [extended set] / Tom Trago / whiteowljaguar
London-based duo Dusky's sound glides across genres effortlessly. After making a splash on the scene with their 2011 soul-drenched house anthem "Lost In You" feat. vocalist Janai, the pair's debut album Stick By This was described as "an intoxicating album full of flashes of brilliance and innovation" by DJ Mag. Touching on ambient, dub, electronica and their organic take on house and techno, Dusky has quickly marked themselves out as producers with a uniquely broad appeal.

Tom Trago is an internationally renowned DJ, producer, live performer and label owner with three critically acclaimed albums to his name. His trademark style blends the best of three decades of dance music - disco, boogie, synth funk, Detroit techno and more - with insatiable house rhythms and an intrinsic grasp of what makes dancefloors tick.

Assembled in 2012, Tyler Vigil and Rebecca-Emma Kaplan (Dollpartz) blended their sounds to produce whiteowljaguar. Having ten years of DJ experience, Vigil uses his architectural mind to build sound, letting percussion lay his framework, while Dollpartz brings the electro-pop-culture influence of her time, paired with her taste for girly vocals and deep, dirty, hooting night owl bass, to blend the light and dark.

October 25 Subversions: Matthew Dear / Roman Flügel / Daniel Avery
Verboten is excited to present another edition of Subversions, Matthew Dear's residency, with the concept of "performing with artists who inspire me by playing forward, body moving electronic music," he states. Read more about Matthew Dear's Subversions residency in his recent interview with Self-Titled Magazine here.

It didn't take long for Matthew Dear to catapult himself into the front rank of micro house producers. Emerging in the early 2000s with a string of high-quality releases for Spectral Sound, Plus 8, and Perlon, Dear broke out in 2003 with the single "Dog Days." He quickly found international success and juggled between monikers including Audien and Jabberjaw. After over a decade of exploring pop's outer limits, Matthew Dear is no longer tied to any one genre, and is blessed with a bottomless well of creative energy.

Roman Flügel is one of the biggest names in the German electronic music scene, and the co-founder of the Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse labels. Active since the early 1990's, Flügel is a chameleon dabbling in many styles from house to techno, electro and leftfield. He has seen success as a solo act as well as in collaboration with his long time partner Jorn Elling Wuttke. His latest solo project Happiness is Happening released on Dial Records, is available now on Beatport.

Daniel Avery may be known to clubbers around the world for his residency behind the decks at London institution fabric, but his rising craft as a producer is setting him apart. His 2013 debut album Drone Logic received a whirlwind of praise from media outlets such as Mixmag, who dubbed the album "mesmerizing." Although rooted in house and techno, Avery's vision of music has always free-floated between styles, which is reflected on his monthly Rinse FM radio show, proving him to be a creator of some of the most inventive and forward thinking electronic sounds emerging today.
