Smith Street Stage, Brooklyn's fastest growing Shakespeare theatre company, will present its fifth season of Shakespeare in Carroll Park with a visceral and modern staging of Shakespeare's comedy of wit, Much Ado About Nothing, featuring its most impressive ensemble to date!

The citizens of this modern-day Messina, celebrate the end of war by looking for love, lust, and mischief. Broadway actor Ben Horner (War Horse; An Octoroon) directs this fast-paced production in which the sultry heat of the city will inspire some to fall in love, while others are dragged kicking and screaming into it. A live rock band, featuring Will Connolly (Once, Fly By Night), will enhance the fun and excitement surrounding Smith Street Stage's 5th season of free outdoor theatre in Brooklyn!

Alexandra Henrikson (The Snow Geese) and David Pegram (War Horse) star as the contentious lovers Beatrice and Benedick. The cast also includes Austin Durant (The Public Theatre's Much Ado About Nothing; Broadway: Macbeth, War Horse) as Don Pedro, and John Patrick Doherty (Broadway: Macbeth) as Dogberry. The cast is rounded out by Michael Vincent Carrera, Olivia Caputo, Mary Cavett, Maxwell Eddy, Patrick Harvey, Jonathan Hopkins, Lauren Pennline, Georgina Richardson, Sam Rosenberg, Will Sarratt, Kim Taff, Sophia Tupy, and Corey Whelihan.

The show will feature original music by Michael McQuilken and choreography by Radio City Rockette Mary Cavett.
