Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey will perform perhaps their most beloved record, 1991's Mavericks, in its entirety, on Dec. 6, at Brooklyn's the Bell House. Although the pair's records with the dB's have found almost universal critical acclaim, it is Mavericks - with its Everly Brothers-style harmonies and more acoustic-based timbres - that often tops fans' playlists. Songs such as "Angels," "I Know You Will," "She Was the One," "Geometry," and "The Child in You" have become perennial favorites. Joining Peter and Chris on this special night will be guitarist Dave Schramm, who played on the original album and subsequent tour, as well as an ace rhythm section and special guests.

Holsapple and Stamey have been friends since childhood, and formed the dB's together in 1977. Holsapple has toured internationally and recorded with R.E.M. and Hootie and the Blowfish, and as a member of the Continental Drifters. Stamey has toured with Alex Chilton and Bob Mould, released seven solo albums, and produced artists such as Alejandro Escovedo and Ryan Adams at Modern Recording, his Chapel Hill, NC, studio. Most recently, he was the musical director of live all-star performances of Big Star's 3rd album. His latest record, the orchestrated Lovesick Blues, came out this year on Yep Roc.
