Lady Wray has everything you'd want in a singer: an infectious Jackson-5-family-member flare, a range like Aretha's, and a church upbringing that's brought a pure, healing texture to her voice. But the struggles of the music business, with both label and band-mate fallout, have taken the artist on a roller coaster ride that's made her stronger than ever and now she's ready to make her pinnacle statement.

Virginia-born singer/songwriter Nicole Wray is Lady Wray and recently released the Leon Michels and Tom Brenneck produced, Queen Alone via Big Crown Records.

"Smiling" is the current single from Queen Alone, which Brooklyn Vegan calls, "a vintage sounding soul nugget that is a great showcase for her powerful pipes."

This week, Lady Wray will be performing a Record Release Party on Thursday, September 29 at the newly opened Brooklyn Bazaar, backed by El Michels Affair. Fellow Big Crown artists The Shacks and 79.5 round out the bill.
