Narrows Community Theater brings the talent of Bay Ridge youth to the stage as it presents its fourth annual summer youth show, Shrek The Musical. Directed by Broadway star Jason Gotay, this stage adaptation is based on the 2001 DreamWorks film Shrek and William Steig's 1990 book Shrek.

Everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, becomes the unlikely hero in this comic, yet poignant, tale replete with a host of fairy tale characters banished from their home, a princess in need of saving, and of course, a villain who is ultimately conquered. Add in a hilarious donkey sidekick and this musical reaffirms life's prevailing lessons on love and the real meaning of beauty. In NCT's rendition, the endearing green ogre, Shrek, is played by Antonio Oliveri. Jose Mendez takes on the role of his sidekick Donkey. The evil lord Farquaad is played by Alexander Deverson and Jessica Sparacio rounds out the main characters as the lovely princess Fiona. Music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, this stage adaptation is a delight for the whole family.

Directed by Jason Gotay, star of Broadway's "Spiderman - Turn Off the Dark", and "Bring It On, The Musical". Music director Paolo C. Perez is a New York based music director, composer, and accompanist, and choreographer Lane Halperin is a New York based artist and teacher who has performed both nationally and internationally.
