Investors Bank, who celebrated the grand opening in September of its new branch on 13th Avenue in Dyker Heights, has again joined with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the 13th Avenue Merchants Association to turn Thirteenth Avenue into a festive skyline of holiday lights this coming season.

Support from Investors Bank will beautify the popular 'mom and pop' shopping strip from 86th to 65th Street with lighting fixtures to enhance the holiday shopping experience.

"Investors Bank has once again given a wonderful holiday gift to Dyker Heights," said Brooklyn Chamber President and CEO Carlo A. Scissura, noting that the organization was pleased to facilitate the funding. "The holiday lights along 13th Avenue will lead to greater foot traffic, a more pleasant shopping experience for shoppers and increased business for local merchants, and I thank Investors Bank for its very generous support."

"We are very pleased to sponsor the holiday lighting on 13th Avenue, which brightens the neighborhood's business district throughout the holiday season," said Investors Bank Chief Operating Officer, Domenick Cama. During this season of giving, our employees at branches across Brooklyn are collecting toys for disadvantaged children and volunteering their time at nonprofits to help many Brooklyn families. As a community bank, we are focused on making a positive difference for the residents and local businesses in the many neighborhoods we serve."

Dominick Sarta, president of the 13th Avenue Merchants Association, added "I believe I speak on behalf of all the merchants on 13th Avenue by saying we are very grateful to Investors Bank for keeping our community lit-up and in spirit." The Brooklyn Chamberalso been working closely with the Merchants Association and community stakeholders on the formation of a Business Improvement District on 13th Avenue, an effort which is supported by Council Member Vincent Gentile. "I was pleased to allocate more than $20,000 via a neighborhood development grant to the BrooklynChamber so that the 13th Avenue BID effort could be significantly amplified. I am excited to see 13th Avenue ring in the festive season with holiday lights brought to life by Investors Bank's co-sponsorship with the Chamber," stated Council Member Gentile.

Assemblymember Peter Abbate said, "I am so happy to announce that once again 13th Avenue will have holiday lights and extend a big thank you to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Investors Bank for making it possible. This is the continuation of a festive tradition and a way to show the vibrancy of our community's commercial districts."
