The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce today announced that Hill Country Barbecue Market Brooklyn and Hill Country Chicken Brooklyn has become the 1600th member to join their fast growing organization.

"Thanks to all of our members and staff, and especially our Ambassador Committee, for helping us reach 1600," said Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Carlo Scissura. "When we announced Park Asia in Sunset Park as our 1500th member in December we promised that 2014 would be even bigger and better- and we were right. We held our inaugural Brooklyn Economic Exchange series, led a record delegation to Albany to meet with lawmakers, and signed our 1,600th member, who is now an integral part of a food renaissance along Adams Street. I am proud to say we are already on our way to 1700."

"This is a great achievement and milestone in the Brooklyn Chamber's journey toward representing the whole borough and providing a strong voice for our businesses and communities," said Brooklyn Chamber Board Chair Denise Arbesu. "We have achieved this goal through teamwork, a strong value proposition for our members and commitment to our Borough. I want to thank our great Board and dedicated staff."

"I would like to thank the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce for welcoming us warmly not just to the organization, but also to our new neighborhood in Downtown Brooklyn," said Hill Country Hospitality founder/CEO Marc Glosserman. "We are thrilled to be located in the heart of Brooklyn, and excited to be a part of the growth in this already thriving community."

Honoring the barbecue and live music capital of Texas, and inspired by the grand old meat-markets-turned-barbecue-joints of Central Texas, Hill Country Barbecue Market takes its cue from legendary Lockhart, Texas barbecue establishment Kreuz Market and its distinctive, dry-rub style. Under the direction of executive chef Elizabeth Karmel, Hill Country's barbecue is served counter-style on butcher paper, weighed on a scale by the pound, with traditional trimmings of white bread, crackers, onions, and pickles.

Hill Country Chicken is a fresh version of the classic American fried chicken joint, specializing in fried chicken, fresh-cut fries and homemade pies. It is inspired by Glosserman's childhood memories and passion for the home cooking of his mother and grandmothers. This nostalgia is reflected in the restaurant's stylized décor, gracious hospitality, friendly counter-style service and executive chef Elizabeth Karmel's cuisine.
