AMERICAN SHOWSTOPPERS: An Evening With Irving Berlin

Featuring The Fred Barton Orchestra

Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. $35/30

Join Broadway s Fred Barton, his 13-piece orchestra, and a fleet of first-rate Broadway performers in a celebration of the legendary Irving Berlin. The concert will span over 100 years, beginning with Berlin s Russian-Jewish origins through his earliest American hit ("Alexander's Ragtime Band, which played on the Titanic) to the entire 20th-century evolution of the Broadway musical. Fred Barton is a musical director, orchestrator, and conductor whose credits include the Broadway production of Cabaret (with Joel Grey),Camelot (with Robert Goulet), Zorba (with Anthony Quinn), Carnegie Hall, and The New York, Boston, and California Pops Orchestras.

Backed up by a live band and Broadway performers, this critically-acclaimed show celebrates more than a century of legendary tenors from Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson to Paul McCartney, Little Richard, and the Beach Boys to the great Enrico Caruso himself. Widely known for his record 1,500 performances as Frankie Valli in Broadway s Jersey Boys, On Stage At Kingsborough audiences love him best for his previous knock out performance right here in The Doo Wop Project.

Founded by legendary dancer and former principal dancer of The Bolshoi Theatre Ballet, Maya Plissetskaya, The State Ballet Theatre of Russia - now under the direction of award-winning dancer and Moiseyev Dance Company soloist Nikolay Anokhin - presents one of the greatest classical ballets of all time. This full-scale production features 50 of Russia's brightest ballet stars to bring this romantic tale of true love to glorious life.

A tango tale of the passionate relationships of our lifetime, Recuerdo Tangofuses both traditional and contemporary Argentine tango with stunning cinematic elements. Godlight Theatre Company returns to On Stage At Kingsborough after last season s triumphant presentation of One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest. Starring Lawrence Jansen (last season s brilliant R.P. McMurphy) in the world premiere adaptation of Donn Pearce s searing novel, Cool Hand Luke, the hard-hitting story of a true original.

Godlight Theatre Company won the Special Drama Desk Award for consistent originality and excellence in dramatizing modern literature, and especially for the vibrant theatricality of its innovative productions and has won national and international awards for its stage adaptations of bold iconic novels.
