Director, Presenter Services at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Ross Cunningham has announced that Kirsten Siddle has been appointed as Associate Director - Arts Programming at the Centre.

Kirsten Siddle comes from her recent role at the Melbourne Recital Centre as Director of Programming and Presenter Services, and Director of the SummerSalt Outdoor Arts Festival in Melbourne's Southbank. She started with Melbourne Recital Centre in 2007 ahead of its opening and prior to that was with the famous Barbican Centre in London, Europe's largest multi-arts venue.

Mr Cunningham said Kirsten would be integral to the growth and relevance of QPAC's programs. The role joins an executive team committed to a creative vision for QPAC that generates positive outcomes, experiences and value for audiences and the people of Queensland.

"Kirsten's role is important for QPAC. She is highly respected in the industry and her vast experience both in Melbourne and internationally is expected to provide a fresh approach to delivering on QPAC's commitments to education, research, heritage and community cultural development, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reconciliation throughout QPAC's performing arts program."

Kirsten is currently producing a work for this year's Brisbane Festival; A State of Grace, The Music of Tim and Jeff Buckley and will start at QPAC in late August 2015.

Ms Siddle said, "I am excited and honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to the artistic life of Brisbane and Queensland through the activities of its premier arts venue and presenter. QPAC is a wonderful enabler of wellbeing, participation and social inclusion through its program and I am looking forward to working with a fantastic team to extend its reach and impact."
