Florence and the Uffizi Gallery: A journey into the heart of the Renaissance
June 5, 2pm $12

Florence And The Uffizi Gallery is a multi-dimensional journey of the city that was once the cradle of the Italian Renaissance through the most beautiful and representative works of art of the period from Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Raphael, Leonardo and Botticelli, with a detailed central chapter dedicated to the very treasure house containing their masterpieces: the Uffizi Gallery, including the breathtaking "Adoration of the Magi" by Leonardo Da Vinci, which will be brought back to life in 2016, after several years of restoration, and here unveiled in worldwide exclusive premiere on the big screen. Moreover, a fascinating, Gothic-flavored interlude will display much darker, more monstrous and frightening paintings, such as those by Caravaggio.

Renoir: Revered and Reviled
June 19, 2pm
$12

Pierre-Auguste Renoir is known and loved for his impressionist paintings of Paris. These paintings count among the world's favourites. Renoir, however, grew tired of this style and changed course. This stunning film - based on the remarkable collection of 181 Renoirs at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia - examines the direction he then took and why it provokes such extreme reactions right up to today. Some claim they are repulsed by Renoir's later works and some claim they are seduced. What may surprise many is that among the many artists who sought Renoir's new works out and were clearly highly influenced by them were the two giants of the 20th century - Picasso and Matisse. The film is a fresh new biography of this artistic giant but more than that it uncovers a rarely told story that places Renoir as a critical link between the old and the new.
