The Boch Center announced today that THE COLOR PURPLE, winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, THE HUMANS, winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play, the holiday classic RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL, and THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER, a holiday mash-up for the entire family, will anchor its upcoming 2017-18 show season at the Shubert Theatre.

"We have a terrific lineup of critically acclaimed shows planned for the Shubert Theatre next season, including the Boston premiere of THE HUMANS," said Josiah A. Spaulding, President & CEO of the Boch Center. "Our season offers something for the whole family to enjoy, and we look forward to announcing the Wang Theatre 2017-18 lineup very soon!"

THE COLOR PURPLE is the 2016 Tony Award winner for Best Musical Revival! Hailed as "a direct hit to the heart" (The Hollywood Reporter), this joyous American classic has conquered Broadway in an all-new "ravishingly reconceived production that is a glory to behold" (The New York Times) directed by Tony winner John Doyle. With a soul-raising score of jazz, gospel, ragtime and blues, THE COLOR PURPLE gives an exhilarating new spirit to this Pulitzer Prize-winning story. Don't miss this stunning re-imagining of an epic story about a young woman's journey to love and triumph in the American South. It's the musical sensation that New York Magazine calls "one of the greatest revivals ever." Experience the exhilarating power of this Tony-winning triumph!

THE COLOR PURPLE will play the Boch Center Shubert Theatre November 21 - December 3, 2017. Press night is set for Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 7:30PM. Ticket prices start at $48.00 and are on sale now.

Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS is an uproarious, hopeful, and heartbreaking play that takes place over the course of a family dinner on Thanksgiving. Breaking with tradition, Erik Blake has brought his Pennsylvania family to celebrate and give thanks at his daughter's apartment in Lower Manhattan. As darkness falls outside the ramshackle pre-war duplex and eerie things start to go bump in the night, the Blake clan's deepest fears and greatest follies are laid bare. Our modern age of anxiety is keenly observed, with humor and compassion, in this new American classic that won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play.

THE HUMANS will play the Boch Center Shubert Theatre March 13 - 25, 2018. Press night is set for Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 7:00PM. Ticket prices start at $25.00 and are on sale now.

The beloved TV classic RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER soars off the screen and onto the stage this holiday season. Come see all of your favorite characters from the special including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and, of course, Rudolph, as they come to life in RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL. It's an adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special. Don't miss this wonderful holiday tradition that speaks to the misfit in all of us.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL will play the Boch Center Shubert Theatre December 14 - 17, 2017. Press night is set for Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 7:00PM. Ticket prices start at $38.00 and are on sale now.

A holiday mash-up for the entire family, THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER a contemporary re-imagination of Tchaikovsky's timeless music, sets out on a third national tour following the success of two previous sold-out tours. THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER is an evening-length production performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, DJ and violinist. Through the spells cast by the mysterious Drosselmeyer, Maria-Clara and her Nutcracker prince, travel back in time to the moment when her parents first meet in a nightclub. Digital scenery transforms E.T.A. Hoffmann's story of sugarplums into 1980s Brooklyn. This new dance work celebrates love, community and the magic of New Year's Eve. Special guest MC KURTIS BLOW, one of hip hop's founding fathers, will open the show with a short set before rapping the introduction to The Hip Hop Nutcracker.
