OBERON, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.)'s Second Stage and club theater venue, announces its fall programming continues its mission tobring exciting and original programming from October through December.

In addition to the previously announced MRS. SMITH LIVE!, The Tiger Lillies, Ruby Wax in Out of Her Mind, and The Donkey Show every Saturday night at 7:30pm and 10:30pm; OBERON continues to be a home for a variety of usual suspects and new innovators that bring energy and entertainment to the venue regularly, including The Big Quiz Thing, a multi-media trivia night with a cash prize; You're The Expert, where comedians guess the profession of brilliant minds in obscure jobs; Mortified, a comic excavation from real people of the things they wrote as kids; and many more events listed below.

THE BIG QUIZ THING

Step up, geeks: The Big Quiz Thing, the major-league game show that you get to play, is live at OBERON every month! Quizmaster Noah Tarnow presents five big rounds of the world's greatest multimedia quiz excitement, including video puzzles, audio clues, the Lightning Round, the buzzer-tastic Three-Way Finale. Plus, there's hope for dummies: Smart-Ass Points for wrong but funny answers. Best of all, there is a $200 cash grand prize.

THE MOTH
Tuesday, October 15, November 19 and December 17 at 8:00PM

The Moth StorySLAMs are steadily spreading all over the map, gathering people and stories from all over the country. The shows are open to anyone with a five-minute story to share on the night's posted theme. The brave of heart, or those with stories they're aching to tell, prepare personal, true tales. When the doors open, storyteller hopefuls puttheir names in The Moth hat. The ten featured stories are scored by teams of judges selected from the audience. Come sign up to tell a story, or just enjoy the show!

We welcome you to settle into your booth, order a drink and travel back in time to the cabarets of turn-of-the-century Paris.Join Artistic Director Andrew Altenbach, stage director Nathan Troup and six of BOC's young artists as they weave together an unforgettable original production. The songs of Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc will mingle with projections from the recent MFA exhibit, "The Postcard Age."

The Boston Circus Guild presents a Halloweenspectacular like no other. Join us for a macabre and tasteless night of circus, live music, and gore. Hosted by Mistress of the Dark, Mama Bang Bang, this gruesome journey will feature live music, burlesque, aerials, acrobatics, contortion and more! With never-before seen acts, new performers, and two bands, Cirque of the Dead has it all. Johnny Blazes and the Pretty Boys will put a funktastic twist on some spooky standards on Halloween night while the ever-raucous Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band will rock out on Friday, November 1st.

You're the Expert bridges the worlds of comedy and academia, attracting a comedy audience while providing them withmeaningful content. Each show features an expert in a somewhat obscure field. A group of hilarious comedians try to guess what in the world our expert studies all day long. Afterwards, the expert dissects how wildly wrong (or right) the ideas about her field were. The show ends with an interview where we find out what our expert does and why their field is important. It's funny, it's interactive, and you end up actually learning something.

After a live taping of You're the Expert, the panelists (and a few special guests) cut loose to showcase what they dobest: make people laugh. Featuring comedians from Comedy Central, Conan, Late Night, and more, this is a one-time opportunity to see some of comedy's rising stars. September's show features Myq Kaplan (Conan, Late Night), Robert Woo(Hard Left Productions), Jake McDowell (ImprovBoston), and a few very special guests.

Follow the protagonist through teenage twitter-pation, affairs, temptations, weddings, and funerals as 12 dancers bring to life over a dozen lyrically narrative songs, performed live by the George Woods Band, blending solid grooving rhythms with stellar songwriting.
