New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is proud to present Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-winning musical Cabaret. Cabaret plays through February 1, 2009 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater.

"This production of Cabaret is extremely special for me, as it is the last production I will be directing at New Rep as their Producing Artistic Director" says Rick Lombardo. "I have the opportunity to work with many of the artists whose work has defined my time here at New Rep, and Cabaret allows us all to explore the social, political and human themes that have informed so much of my work here."

Todd C. Gordon will join Lombardo as Musical Director. New Rep favorites Aimee Doherty and John Kuntz will be featured as Sally Bowles and Emcee. Other returning favorites are Paul D. Farwell as Schultz, Paul Giragos as Ernst, Cheryl McMahon as Schneider, and Maurice E. Parent as
Bobby/Kit Kat Ensemble. Some new faces are Shannon Lee Jones as Kost, as well as several students from The Boston Conservatory-Jason Modica, Dan O'Connor, and Peter Nicholas Romagna who help make up the Kit Kat Ensemble.

Welcome to the decadence of 1920's Berlin where Cliff, a lost American writer, enters the Kit Kat Club and gets caught in a sea of painted lips and rouged cheeks. He meets Sally Bowles, a burlesque star, who ensnares him with her wiles. History is in the making as the Nazis rise to power. "Leeff all your troubles outzide," the Emcee advises, but the club begins to imitate that outside world, and those leering entertainers become more threatening than enticing. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, this popular musical includes such favorites as "Willkommen," "Don't Tell Mama," and "So What?"

New Repertory Theatre presents provocative and intelligent works of both established and emerging playwrights in an intimate setting that involves and engages the audience. New Rep has earned a reputation for dynamic productions that honor the writers and feature talented professional actors from the New England Theatre community as well as guest artists from around the U.S. New Rep has received Elliot Norton and IRNE Awards for outstanding acting, scenic design, directions, and production. New Rep's Lead Sponsor for Cabaret is Bank of America and its Broadcast Partner is Comcast. Programming at New Repertory Theatre is supported in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
