Needham Community Theatre is celebrating its 60th anniversary this season. As part of the celebration, NCT has collaborated with Gerard Alessandini, the creator and writer of Forbidden Broadway and a Needham native, to present FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES TO NEEDHAM: THE FARCE AWAKENS.

The original Forbidden Broadway, a farcical revue of Broadway songs and performers, was created by Mr Alessandrini in 1982, and has been revised over a dozen times since to include newer Broadway shows. Needham's version will include some songs re-written in tribute to NCT and Needham.

The show will be performed this coming weekend, April 1 and 2 at 8 PM and April 3 at 2 PM at the Newman School, 1155 Central Ave in Needham. There will also be a 60th-anniversary reception at the Needham Historical Society , 1147 Central Ave from 6-7:30 on April 1, prior to the opening night performance. Appetizers will be served and there will be a cash bar. Mr. Alessandrini will be in attendance at the reception and opening night performance.

Parking for both events is at the Newman School. A donation of $10 is suggested for the reception. Ticket prices and information for the three performances may be found on our website www.needhamtheatre.org or by calling 781-444-4740.
