Thursday, September 1st: The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will audition prospective members in grades 5 and 6 for its Musical Theater Performing Troupes at 3:30 p.m. at The School, 38 Main St., Franklin. Thursday, September 8th: The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will hold auditions for its Musical Theater Performing Troupes, grades 7-12, at 3:30 p.m. at The School, 38 Main St., Franklin. These ensembles rehearse throughout the school year for various community performances and are eligible for the annual April vacation performance trip to Walt Disney World. Saturday, September 10th: Come to a Fall Open House at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) at The School, 38 Main St. from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The community is invited to meet the faculty, tour the facility and learn about FSPA's programs in Music, Dance and Drama. Tuesday, September 13th: The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will audition members for its junior dance company, Next Step, at 3:30 p.m. at The School, 38 Main Street. Wednesday, September 14th: The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) holds auditions for its senior dance company, CenterStage, at 3:00 p.m. at The School, 38 Main Street. This dance group rehearses throughout the year for various community performances and is eligible for the annual April vacation performance trip to Walt Disney World. Saturday, September 17th: Audition for Bye Bye Bieber, an original musical spoof loosely based on the musical Bye Bye Birdie! The auditions begin at 1:00 p.m. and are open to students 8 and up who are enrolled in any class at Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA). Students should prepare 16 measures of a pop song. Saturday, Saturday 17th: A "How to Audition" workshop will be offered by the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at 38 Main Street, Franklin. Led by FSPA Director Raye Lynn Mercer, the workshop will educate students and parents about the audition process, whether getting ready for a first audition or looking to improve. The cost for the workshop is $15 per person, $25 for student and parent, and $5 for each additional family member.
