The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company is pleased to announce the first concert in a new series called New Voices for a Change. The premise behind the concert series is that each concert will feature the music of a young, new musical theatre composer and a portion of the proceeds of each concert will be donated to a local charity.

This first concert will feature the music of Scott Alan, one of New York City's finest new composers. Blending musical theater and pop sounds, Mr. Alan creates music with amazing heart and character. With two albums already on the market, ("Dreaming Wide Awake" and "Keys"), Mr. Alan is well on his way to becoming a very successful composer. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the AIDS Action Comittee of Massachusetts, whose mission is to the stop the HIV/AIDS epidemic by preventing new infections and optimizing the health of those already infected.

The Distance You Have Come: The Music of Scott Alan will be taking place at Encore Piano Lounge at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel (Theatre District) 275 Treamont Street, Boston, Massachusetts.

The cast includes: Rich Hoehn, Brian Dillon, Steve Dyer, Lindsay Hurley, Shawna O’Brien, AnneMarie Alvarez, Kate Sullivan Gibbens, Kira Cowan, and Anne Ohlmsted.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 8th, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

Tickets cost $20 and are available at www.fudgetheatre.com/boxoffice.

“I am very excited to be starting this new concert series,” says Artistic Director Joe DeMita.  “There are so many great new composers working in New York City, and Boston does not get the chance to be exposed to them as much as the city should.  I’m hoping that this concert will bring some of the new, contemporary musical theatre sounds that are bursting out of New York City into the Boston area”.  The concert features Rich Hoehn, Brian Dillon, Steve Dyer, Lindsay Hurley, Shawna O’Brien, AnneMarie Alvarez, Anne Ohlmsted, Kira Cowan and Kate Sullivan Gibbens.

The F.U.D.G.E.
