The award-winning Company Theatre presents a hilarious look at divinity and devilment in The Savannah Disputation, a divine new comedy, playing from tonight, October 5 through 21 at The Company Theatre Centre for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. The regional premiere production is written by EVan Smith and directed by local playwright/director Lisa Rafferty.

An off-Broadway hit, The Savannah Disputation features two Catholic middle aged sisters who forget all about southern charm when a young door-to-door evangelist comes knocking. This theological comedy blends Smith's trademark sharpness of wit and depth of character, while telling a story in which a crisis of faith arises when seemingly similar beliefs are discovered to be worlds apart. When the gracious Georgia matrons bring out their "secret weapon" at a dinner party to sabotage the door to door pep squad preacher, nothing short of hilarity ensues. Richly layered with wit and heady philosophical debate, The Savannah Disputation is truly heaven sent!

The talented cast features Company veterans and newcomers alike, including Sharon Evans of Hingham, Mary Liz Murray of Everett, Frank Piekut of Hanover, and Karen Wadland of Randolph.

Tickets for The Savannah Disputation range from $22 to $24 and may be purchased by calling the box office at 781-871-2787, emailing boxoffice@companytheatre.com, or visiting www.companytheatre.com.
