Austrian Stage will present Thomas Bernhard's THE WORLD FIXER on Nov 17, 2014 at 7PM at the Goethe Institut Boston (Free Admission - bit.ly/bernhardworld) and on Dec 12, 2014 at 7PM at the Austrian Cultural Forum NY (Free Admission - bit.ly/bernhardworldny).

The World Fixer revolves around a self-centered, self-styled genius loosely based on Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. The protagonist is an author of an obscure philosophical tract ostensibly designed to improve the condition of the world, if the world could only understand it. Combining absurdist comedy with satire of academic pomposity, the play ultimately gives a moving portrait of human frailty.

Bernhard, whose body of work has been called "the most significant literary achievement since World War II," is widely considered to be one of the most important German-speaking authors of the postwar era.
