Alice Ripley won a Tony Award for her leading role in the recent Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal, and was a Tony-nominee for Sideshow on Broadway. This Labor Day weekend, she joins the star-studded lineup of Broadway at The Art House in Provincetown, on Sept 1 & 2 for three shows only. Series host Seth Rudetsky joins her at piano. In addition to her Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Next to Normal, Alice Ripley also received the Helen Hayes Award as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. As the conjoined twin sisters Daisy and Violet Hilton who go from circus act to stage performers in the original Broadway cast of Side Show, Alice and co-star Emily Skinner became the first two actresses to be co-nominated for a Best Actress in a Musical Tony Award. She has also starred on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Sunset Boulevard, and The Who's Tommy, as well as both on Broadway and the National tour of Les Misérables. Her Off-Broadway and regional theatre work includes reprising her award-winning role in the national tour of Next to Normal, as well as the original pre-Broadway production of that musical at the Arena Stage in Washington, DC (Helen Hayes award), Five Flights, James Joyce's The Dead, The Vagina Monologues, Tell Me on a Sunday (Helen Hayes nomination), Shakespeare in Hollywood (Helen Hayes nomination), Company (Helen Hayes nomination).

On film, Alice Ripley has been featured in The Adulterer, Temptation, and the brand new film Isn’t It Delicious, and on television in Lifetime TV’s Modern Love. Her original Broadway cast recordings include Next to Normal, Little Fish, Dreamgirls, The Rocky Horror Show, Side Show, Disney’s King David, and The Who’s Tommy. Other recordings include Skinner/Ripley: Raw at Town Hall with Side Show co-star Emily Skinner, Sondheim: The Stephen Sondheim Album, Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, The Stephen Schwartz Album, Duets, Unsuspecting Hearts. With her band Ripley, featuring Alice on guitar and vocals., she has written and produced the albums Everything's Fine (2001, Sh-K-Boom Records/Gaslight), Ripley EP (2003), Outtasite (2006, Shellac), Alice Ripley Daily Practice, Volumne 1 (2011 Sh-K-Boom Records), and the brand new single this year, Beautiful Eyes.
