Boise Contemporary Theater (BCT) announced today that the theater is the recipient of the Boise Whole Foods community giving day on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Also known as their "5% Day," the Whole Foods community giving day grants five percent of that day's net sales to a local nonprofit or educational organization.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to learn about BCT at Whole Foods from 9 am to 7 pm on December 9th, and will get a unique taste and sneak peeks of the offerings of Boise's professional theater dedicated to new work. There will be live music, pop-up performances, a unique wandering theatrical experience, drawings, and giveaways. Additionally, shoppers can purchase BCT gift certificates that provide a discount for Season Subscriptions and single tickets to any performances of the 15|16 Season.

Interim Managing Director Marney Ellis says, "We are thrilled to be the chosen 5% Day nonprofit recipient next month. We're so thankful to our local Whole Foods for the support they provide our community, and we look forward to showcasing BCT to our greater community and expanding our audience reach."

BCT is in its 20th Season, and three of the five mainstage productions this season are World or Co-World Premieres. Shoppers will be able to purchase Season Subscriptions good for the remaining four shows: the Co-World Premiere of NO MORE SAD THINGS by Hansol Jung, running November 24 - December 19; the World Premiere of WHAT WENT WRONG by funnywoman Lauren Weedman, running January 5-16; CONSTELLATIONS by Nick Payne, running February 10 - March 5; and the World Premiere of MARGIN OF ERROR by Eric Coble, running April 13 - May 7. MARGIN OF ERROR is the first play that will be developed through the inaugural BCT Boise River Prize fellowship, of which playwright Coble is this season's recipient.

BCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. All proceeds from the Whole Foods 5% Day will support the BCT mission to produce compelling, professional new works that invite us all to imagine something new.
