Lauren Weedman, creator of two of the most popular shows in the history of BCT as well as the recent hit BOISE: YOU DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER 149, is returning to our stage with a new question: Is Boise to blame for everything? Weedman; whose extensive film and television credits include The Daily Show, Arrested Development, HUNG, Judd Apatow's A Five Year Engagement, and the upcoming HBO series, Looking, written by Michael Lannan; has a fondness for the City of Trees.

For BLAME IT ON BOISE she will reprise some of the stories from BOISE: YOU DON'T LOOK A DAY OVER 149 and she'll also add some new ones. In BUST, Weedman's first play in Boise, she contrasted life in the LA County Jail for women with the absurdity of her career struggles in Hollywood. In the BCT World Premiere, NO...YOU SHUTUP, she tackled her own evolving definition of family. Now she's back in town looking for answers. Will Boise have them or is our city to blame for all the questions? We'll all find out together, when Weedman returns to BCT for a very limited three-show run today and tomorrow, January 10 & 11. BLAME IT ON BOISE will be a unique experience each time as Weedman incorporates new ideas and responses into the show. We're not quite sure what's going to happen, but that's part of the fun.

As part of her stay in Boise Lauren will be conducting a workshop on Sunday, January 12 from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. In this writing/performance lab, actors, writers, solo artists and storytellers will have the opportunity to engage with critically acclaimed writer, actor, and solo performer Lauren Weedman. The lab combines flash writing exercises with direct & frank feedback (and maybe some dancing), to help you mine your most humiliating stories, obsessions, journal ramblings, joys, traumas, dramas, and flat-out lies to help shape a short performance piece. Participants should bring in a piece - an outline - a monologue - an idea - to workshop. The cost is $50. To register contact kc@bctheater.org or call 331-9224 x205

BLAME IT ON BOISE runs January 10 at 8pm and January 11 at 2pm & 8pm. Tickets for performances at 8pm are $25 and tickets for the Saturday matinee are $15. Tickets can be purchased online at BCTheater.org or by calling the BCT box office at (208) 331-9224 x205.
