Christian Youth Theatre-North Idaho is in the middle of their run of A Christmas Carol, the Broadway Musical at the S.A. Kroc Community Theater. This is CYT's twenty-seventh production since opening its doors in the summer of 2007 with weekly theater arts camps. Recently, Trenton Klinkefus, Ebeneezer Scrooge in the current production and Shawn Hunt, first to play Scrooge in the A Christmas Carol Tour Group in the fall 2007, got together.

Between the two of them, they have over 13 years experience in theater. Trenton has only two more opportunities to participate in a CYT show as he will age out at 19 next year. He is grateful for CYT and the big part it has played in his life over the last 5 years and has decided that he would like to continue to pursue theater when his CYT career is over.

Shawn actually played Scrooge twice for CYT-North Idaho, both times in the tour group which started it all. He has continued in theater post high school, sharing that after that first role, he never left theater again. During his time at CYT he was involved in 9 productions including The Wizard of OZ, Aladdin, Willy Wonka and Treasure Island. Now 21, he is working with The Modern Theater in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene. Shawn says "...over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work with a large range of really awesome people as I continually pursue my dream of being an actor. I am exceptionally grateful for the time I was granted at CYT, and the program will always hold a special place in my history. I would not be who I am today without it.
