Arts organizations in the downtown Boise Cultural District announced today that they will co-host an Arts Block Party on May 5, 2016 to celebrate Idaho Gives.

The party will focus on families and our community, and will offer a taste of how each organization serves our local youth through various educational arts programs and events. The hashtag #idahogivescreativity has been created for the event.

Participating arts organizations include Ballet Idaho, Boise Art Museum, Boise Contemporary Theater, Boise Philharmonic, Boise Rock School, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and Opera Idaho. The event serves to further the mission shared by each participating organization to broaden and strengthen the community impact of arts organizations in Idaho.

The Idaho Gives Arts Block Party will take place in the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy parking lot on the southeast corner of 9th and Myrtle from 4 - 7 pm on Thursday, May 5. Each organization will have information on its offerings for youth, families, and community members.

Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to experience first-hand youth-oriented entertainment and performance samplings from the various organizations. Boise Rock School and Rock on Wheels will be here along with a bounce-house for kids free of charge.

Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase via local food trucks and vendors, including Pie Hole Pizza.

The Myrtle & 9th parking lot and the alleyway between buildings will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

QR codes will be available at the Block Party for instantaneous donations to any or all of the organizations for Idaho Gives. There will also be raffle tickets and prizes throughout the event.
