I would imagine 2018-2019 as well. Even if they hop on the Disney animated film to live-action film train, I'm sure that they will still want to space their films out. Maleficent and Cinderella are a year apart with the sequel to Alice in Wonderland later that 2015/early 2016.

They could probably squeeze it into 2016 if they fast tracked it after all there is two live action fairytale Disney films this year with Maleficent and Into the Woods, they also have Cinderella and Jungle Book next year.

Based on the pattern of releases, I would imagine (if fast tracked) Beauty and the Beast could release Christmas 2016.

^ I definitely agree with that. Although it could do well as a summer film, I would imagine a Christmas/Thanksgiving release would be what Disney is aiming for. I'm sure we'll get a better estimate of the release date time period when we learn more of what phase the production is at as of now.

I certainly hope they get a big star, none of these boring, interchangeable girls they tend to cast in these films. Anna Kendrick is my top choice but I think there's zero percent chance she'd do it. I wouldn't mind seeing Evan Rachel Wood either.

Christmas 2016 would be a great release. They usually fill their Spring and Summer with Marvel movies. There shouldn't be much opposition if they release in December because they will miss out on the domination of the Harry Potter spin off.

I'm also glad that this will help give Belle a boost in popularity. 2013-14 has not been a great year for her. First of all, it was a "pity and a sin" for the Academy Awards not to include her in their tribute of Animated heroes this year. Belle was in fact the only Disney Princess to be considered for AFI's Heroes list in 2003. What's also sad is that her merchandise on Ebay only made $6,867 from May 2013-14.

I sort of blame it on the fact that 'Beauty and the Beast' went back into the Disney Vault April 2012. The other six original princesses had more stuff going on this past year. 'Snow White' had a new ride that just opened at Magic Kingdom, Jasmine is currently appearing in a hit Broadway show, Ariel just had her film released on Blu-ray and DVD, and Aurora and Cinderella's original films are either already out (Cinderella's) or will be available soon (Aurora's). Plus, they both have two live-action films receiving lots of buzz. 'Maleficent' just opened to big box office numbers and lots of people are anticipating the new 'Cinderella' film.

Michael Fassbender is also another candidate I wouldn't mind seeing in the film he can sing too. Jonathan Groff would be good as Beast aswell.

Disney has the Star Wars spin-off in December 2016 so rules it out for that date, thinking March or April 2017.

Ideally, I would like to see the BatB stage musical adapted for ABC TV--I don't see a movie version being a big hit.

I think it could work as a non musical but I'd be fine with it being a musical. It'd be interesting how'd they adapt the furniture for the film, they could make them fully CG but I'd prefer borrowing from the stage version by making them slowly turning into objects so you could have quite visually interesting costume and VFX. The Beast I imagine either motion capture or a mix of make up and motion capture,

I would imagine the Beast won't be too hard. I'm hoping they go the route that X-Men did for Beast. No CGI, just lots and lots of prosthetics and makeup. Emma Rossum is gorgeous, but in 3-4 years she'll be 30. She reads very young however and might be able to pull it off.

I'd be interested to see how Maisie Williams blossoms in the next few years. She's quite gorgeous off-Game of Thrones. It depends on what route they want to go on for Belle. A more petite Ariana Grande/Emma Watson actress or a more more Anne Hathaway/Anna Kendrick look.

^^It was confirmed that it's a musical. And the sad thing is: If they literally originally chose Sophia Grace (a big name star with little to no singing experience or training) over Lilla Crawford (A BROADWAY actress with actual experience and training) just because of Sophia’s name and Meryl Steep over Donna Murphy for Into the Woods and if they chose Carly Rae as Cinderella over an actual Broadway actress, they can sooooo choose Kristen Stewart over a newcomer, a Broadway actress, or even a big name who deserves it so much more, for Belle. Because you know, it's clearly the name which is more important than the talent. Does she even sing?

I am dubious as Hitfix reported a "source". But then I am just taking Kristen as rumour if this is the case. Could they gamble on Sam Barks? Kristen can carry a tune but she is quite possibly the worst choice for this. I want Emmy or a Broadway babe. :)

I like the idea of Gordon-Levitt. He would be a similar sort of choice to Franco in Disney's Oz movie.

I would not like to see a trampire play this remarkable character. If it's a non-musical, then maybe that would be the route they are taking. The Kristen Stewart source originally came from Hollywood Life. I think Hitfix is a little more reliable. Stewart played a fairy tale princess before in 'Snow White & the Huntsman' and she only decent at times in the film. I honestly would rather have Emile de Ravin play Belle over Stewart even though she's pretty dull on 'Once Upon a Time'.

If anyone is not gonna make me want to see the film it will be Kristen, she just doesn't have any screen presence or charisma. I can't imagine her as Belle at all.
