just got home from the city... went to the matinee today. don't have a lot of time... it was PHENOMENAL. but really sad. they had big pictures of all the old cast members when you walked in. adam and susan especially were great. it was my third time seeing susan and i've always loved her... second time seeing adam. love him too, but he was much better this time. i met susan, but adam didn't come out unfortunately. it was so surreal. i can't believe it's over.

if anyone went to the night show, please post about it!

I wasn't at the last show, but I saw it two weeks ago...wasn't Adam fabulous? I have SO much respect for him, he took such a risk with that role. He could have continued to just play hot, angst-ridden romantic hero-types, but he didn't.

Can I tell ya...I would have killed to have been the girl he danced with at the beginning of Act II. Why didn't I request aisle seats?

Adam: Where are you from?
Girl: Here.
Adam: From zhee nighclub!?!!??!?!

That made me chuckle.

Heh. I was at that performance. Funny, the things you remember.
~Sarah, kind of not quite knowing what to do at this point.....other than the obvious sit and post on message boards and wallow in my sad, sad state

nativenewyorker: lol! this is like the third cabaret-related thread i've posted on in the past 5 minutes, but "from zhee nightclub?!" that's adorable!
yesterday, they guy he picked was with his wife.
adam: "what's your name, where you from..." etc
i forget his name, but guy: New Jersey
adam: "very nice. who are you here with?"
guy: "my wife"
adam: "does your wife know your hand is on my ass?"
i would have died to dance with adam, but it's ok. he was fabulous!

I heard a really funny audience participation last time I went too.
Adam: Oh, sorry I'm stepping on you with my big feet. You know what that means, right? Where are you from darling?
Guy: Brooklyn
Adam: Oh, ja, in da house.
omg, I nearly died laughing :) ahhh...the memories

Jeez Amneris, do you ever say anything nice anymore? John Stamos was in Cabaret over 2 years ago, if anything Jon Secada gave it the kiss of death. Play nice honey.

I think John Stamos is talented, not to mention handsome. Guys with dark hair rock!

Adam really looks about 11-years-old.

I'm so glad I got to see it again. I saw it when it first opened, but half of it went over my head and (I'll admit) the show REALLY scared me.

Wonder what show will be next to go re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: cabaret today I think Phantom has a few good years left...it can't close before the movie comes out.

Just saw some of the cast of Cabaret, the film on the today show, and judgmental Kathie Lee had the nerve to say something to the effect of "I wish Bob Fosse was here...I'm sure he's watching from....somewhere." As if too say that clearly, he's in hell. Just had to vent.

Is Michael York ailing? I know it's been several years since I've seen him in anything (Austin Powers) and he's 70-ish, but he looked really good well into his 50's. He did not healthy at all here.

If Liza can make comeback after comeback after comeback, why can't a thread?

Anyone going to the screening tomorrow at the Ziggy?

I didn't notice the date in the first post and was wondering if someone hacked your account!!!! I was like, 'Why does she sound so young? Brain trauma?????'

Kicked in the head by a Shetland pony. Yesterday.

(My point was just that the search didn't yield any more recent threads to bump?)

(Over NINE years ago - my math skills obviously went with that kick.)
