I really need some help in deciding between the 2. OCU doesn't have a senior showcase and is not a conservatory, but is so reputable in the Music Theater world, but so is Webster. I don't know what to do.
OCU hands down. Just look at the successful graduates (Krisin, Kelli O'Hara, Stacy Logan, Ron Raines) and they have the new $38 million music center that's the best in the US (it was just opened this year).
Did you audition and were accepted? OCU is known as one of the hardest schools to get into for mMt.
i THINK (don't quote me, i could be thinking of the wrong school) OCU is considering developing a senior showcase. Both schools are very very difficult to get into, congrats!
"grace, you're stuffed in a box getting rid of ass plaque. let's face it, this evening is a bust."
I'm going to OCU. The new building is gorgeous. I really liked the faculty and students and talent. When I auditioned in March the choir was even rehearsing and it was awesome to listen to (we could walk in and watch if we wanted).
I have no idea about Webster though. Don't know anything about it, but wish you luck in choosing. It's obviously more important to choose what fits you better.
It really depends on what your looking for. It comes down to conservatory vs. regular college. I will say though that I had 3 friends leave OCU last year b/c they felt it was'nt challenging enough and they felt that they were not growing enough as a performer. I would visit both schools though before you decide. P.M. If you have any questions.
"Any performer dreams to see her name in lights, but the best performer dreams to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a performer..."
Considering that you have to pass your vocal and acting audition to get into OCU, I think the acting plays a big part. And it also plays a big part for your scholarship. I talked to their admission dept. months ago and that's what it said. The same would be for any other big school like NYU or Boston Conservatory.
i am partial to webster just because i loved it so much when i visited it, but i have to second rachel. i know of 2 people who left last year because they hated it. and if you are looking at alumni, how about webster's norbert leo butz, jerry mitchell, and huntere bell (responsible for
