For $50 I would hope so.

So disappointed to see more and more shows not only asking for donations, but also requesting higher and higher dollar ammounts.  Back when donations were usually about $15-25, it was pretty reasonable, but here with prices of $40+ its quite pricey.  I love the idea of giving back and raising money, but these prices are a bit out of hand.  Don't even get me started of the $100 Saigon is asking!

I wonder if some of it has to do with the rise of eBay and other selling sites.  This way if the person does sell it, at least BCEFA has gotten something.  I know it sucks to punish everyone for the acts of a few, but I understand it.

Will I still get asked for a donation if I send to any actors or actress in Hello, Dolly!, Groundhog Day, Miss Saigon or Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812? I know you still get asked for a donation if you send to individuals in Dear Evan Hansen. But what about the other shows?

It depends. If you ask an individual for a CAST SIGNED playbill, probably. But if you want a playbill signed my just them, probably not (DEH being the exception).

Whenever I request an autographed Playbill I always include a $25 donation to BC/EFA,  I see Groundhog day requests $40, will they honor my request or send back my donation asking for more?   Any opinions?

This has been said a lot on here- but after about a week and a half I received very nice responses from War Paint, Come From Away, and Laura Osnes. 3 signed playbills and Laura's autograph.

Bette is on it! I sent it to Gavin Creel, C/O: The Schubert Theatre, with a donation to Broadway Cares.

Has anybody sent an item to the theater to be signed and never got it back? I wrote a very nice letter to Danny Devito at "The Price" along with a poster and it never came back. Not sure if I'll get it back seeing that the play is done.

I sent kind letters to Kelli O'Hara (and her Lights of Broadway card) when she was in The King and I at Vivian Beaumont/Lincoln Center Theatre a few weeks before she left and to Sara Bareilles (and the Joe's Diner coaster from the Deluxe edition of What's Inside) last spring when Waitress was in previews, and I haven't heard back from them. I am afraid that the letters may have also been purloined en route, since I used pretty envelopes and calligraphy...

I also sent letters and LoB cards to Seth Rudetsky, Kerry Butler, and Roger Bart a week before Disaster! closed and did not hear back from them. (I did receive a cast-signed Playbill and sweet letter from my childhood friend, Catherine Ricafort, who also appeared and to whom I also sent a letter and LoB cards of her previous credits.)

I had also attempted to send letters to Alexandra Silber, Melanie Moore, and Ted Sperling the week before the Fiddler revival closed, in care of the stage manager and using Priority Mail, but it was during a blizzard, and the envelope was returned to me, unopened, because it arrived a day or two after the show closed! Sigh.

I have read stories of people waiting over a year and finally hearing back from certain performers. The longest I have waited was over 6 months for Jessie Mueller to return my Lights of Broadway card (which I sent with a duplicate and kind letter also last spring during Waitress previews).

Another friend who used to work for Roundabout's ticketing services said that the staff forwards mail to actors since Roundabout has a year-round/set staff. I hope you receive a response and your poster!

Sent to almost every lead in Hamilton a year and a half ago and only wound up hearing from Christopher Jackson. You might still get a response after a show closes. Some performers have made it public knowledge that they don't respond to fan mail until after the show wraps. That was the case when Jessica Chastain was in The Heiress.

What a lovely surprise -- just now I checked the mail to find a SASE nestled among circulars and other junk. I wondered whose it might be, since I haven't sent any letters in awhile; it was my signed Lights of Broadway card from Kelli O'Hara with a sweet apology for my letter (postmarked April 12, 2017, five days before she left The King and I) being misplaced last spring during her move from LCT! (I was just listening to The Bridges of Madison County OBCR last night after finally having read the novel.)

Don't lose hope :) But as other posters have previously written, there is also a possibility that what you send might not come back to you.

Sorry, I'm a complete N00b when it comes to this. Does it mean attaching a receipt or something like that?
(Also, a dumber question, what about postage? Has anyone from abroad tried this?)

Well, this was a surprise. I had read on here they were requesting a $40 donation... I just got my envelope and $45 check donation back from Dear Evan Hansen with the following note. Guess it's up to $75 now. Crazy!

Not quite sure how to attach images, sorry.

On May 19th I mailed out 3 requests for playbills.  Today 2 arrived, Bandstand and A Bronx Tale.   Still waiting on Grounhog Day.   I always send a check to BC/EFA when I request a Playbill after all the cast is taking time to sign.  I sent $25 for Groundhog Day before I found out the require $40.   Any thoughts what they might do?

They'll probably give it to you.

I got a great haul yesterday. Cast signed playbill from The Glass Menagerie, plus responses from Carolee Carmello (she sent a Sweeney playbill signed by Norm and herself) and Christy Altomare.

Glad to hear that Sweeney sent back to you - I sent them a Playbill after I saw the show at the end of April and haven't heard back. Waiting on that, and Waitress.

Has Anyone sent anything to Barrett Doss at Groundhog's Day or Chris Diamantopoulos at Waitress? I sent them both letters last week, wondering if anyone else has tried?
