Who have you gotten stuff back from? |

If I were to send my Playbill back for just him to sign, do you think I would still need to send the $40 donation? I tweeted the twitter account and they didn't mention a donation, but I would hate to send it and risk not getting it back/not getting a signature.
Thanks!
If you send directly to Ben Platt, there shouldn't be a donation request. That's only for cast-signed playbills when you send directly to the stage manager. Every time you send something through the mail, you run the risk of losing it. If you don't mind the risk, go ahead, but I wouldn't do it.
Be careful, I was told DEH has been really strict about the $40 donation, even if you send to actors individually. So I may not risk it if I were you.

Thanks, guys! I guess if I decide I desperately want Ben's signature, I'll pony up the $40 and get a whole 'nother playbill.

What if you send to the other casts members besides Ben Platt (Like Will Roland, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, etc)?

Individual cast members don't ask for money donations in exchange for signatures. Only stage management, if that is the company's policy for cast-signed playbills, and if the request is for a cast-signed playbill. The individual cast members do not solicit for BCEFA privately.

I sent one in February to the stage manager. I haven't gotten it back yet.

Apparently, the stage management is not letting them send signed things back and is removing SASEs from
the fan mail so they can't respond. I have personally not tried but I had a friend try it and he said that happened to him. I am curious if anyone else can confirm or deny?

Seriously? I was getting ready to send one to the DEH stage manager until I heard the news that you need to donate 40 bucks to get a cast signed playbill. And just recently, I was getting ready to send one to each of the cast members (so far Ben Platt & Laura Dreyfuss) and the same thing. I'm getting VERY VERY VERY confused. Help please?

Re DEAR EVAN HANSEN: Yes, if you ask for a Playbill signed by an individual cast member-- and even directly address the envelope to that cast member-- you will get a request for the $40 in return. (For example, someone sent a letter to Mike Faist, enclosed his playbill asking for it to be signed, and it was returned unsigned with the donation request.) If you send something smaller, such as one of their trading card, with a smaller envelope, I doubt you will get that same donation request though.

I'm also about to send one to the Stage Manager and maybe even Glenn Close. I just need more stamps.

This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing happening with personalized mail. In that case, they must have the performer's permission to open mail that has been sent directly to them. I understand that they want to collect money for BCEFA, but that seems like a bit of an overreach. I wonder if people are actually complying with those requests for individual responses, or if it has turned more off from attempting to communicate further.
