Posted: 8/5/14 at 2:43pmI recently sent out fan mail to a number of shows and I just got back A Gentleman's Guide full cast signed playbill. I'm hoping to get some more back this week. It only took about a week and a half.

Very cool! I saw A Gentleman's Guide last week, but had a splitting headache and a sore throat by the time the show was over so I didn't/couldn't wait at the stage door. It never occurred to me to write anything to the show and send my Playbill for them to sign. Can I ask you, what did you write? Just that you request a signed something or another? Did you provide your own memorabilia to sign along with your letter? Thanks for any info/tips you can provide! Much appreciated.
Anybody tried to do the same for Hedwig? I've done the stage door twice for that show and got both Lena and the band as well as Neil, albeit separately, so no Playbill I have has everyone together.

Posted: 8/5/14 at 3:58pmI just sent a short letter to the stage manager requesting a signed playbill and they didn't request a donation. I sent to Hedwig early in the run and they wanted $50 for a signed playbill but they ended up sending me an unsigned one anyway. I sent that to the stage manager as well.

Posted: 8/5/14 at 4:01pmI have sent to both A Gentleman's Guide and Hedwig. For A Gentleman's I just said that I loved the show but I am currently unable to see it and I asked for a signed playbill. You dont have to include yours if you dont want to. When I sent to Hedwig the stage manager sent a note saying they cannot give out signed playbills so she sent an unsigned one. Hope this helps!

I'm heading back to NYC for the day later this week and was going to try both stage doors for Hedwig and Gentleman's Guide then, but if I'm not successful at the latter, I'll try writing to them instead. Posted: 8/7/14 at 1:16pmJust got a reply from Violet. They did not send a cast signed playbill and none of the cast signed my Violet Playbill from the Encores concert. However Sutton signed and personalized my program from who I saw her concert last October.

Posted: 8/8/14 at 12:00amMy daughter was six last year when she sent a letter to Sierra Boggess in London where she was performing Phantom of the Opera and mentioned she wish she had seen her in The Little Mermaid. A couple of weeks later my daughter received a really cool over-sized postcard of Sierra as Ariel and a nice note. That was coolest. She was on cloud nine for days. Just yesterday she sent a letter to Idina Menzel at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and is hoping for a reply. I had no idea, though, that you can send something to them to sign, and it seems many of them do send them back. That's cool! I guess we'll try that next.

Posted: 8/11/14 at 3:52pmJust got an amazing responce from Heathers. This is by far my favorite responce I have ever gotten! I had gotten in contact with the stage manager and was able to make arrangements to get a signed poster! I was so happy about this. I also sent some pictures and questionnaires for the cast to sign and full out. I got back every picture signed and almost all the questionnaires filled out. And the icing on the already amazing cake, they sent me 2 cast signed playbills! One from pride month and one from after Barrett left the show! I had asked for a pride playbill but the second was an amazing surprise. Also Kryistolyn was kind enough to send a signed headshot and Dave Thomas Brown sent me this really cool postcard type thing with him as JD on it. He of course signed it. The questionnaires are the best part to me though. If you have never sent a questionnaire to someone you should. The are fun to create and even more fun to read when you get them back.
