I think Ragtime used the house curtain because it went with the "less extravagant" mood of the show
or maybe they just cheaped out...

What a colossal piece of crap! It'll probably run for years.

Does anyone have pictures of the Love Never Dies curtain or any of the curtains used for the 1996 revival of The King and I or the 2004 tour with Sandy Duncan?

I really liked Legally Blonde's and Hairspray's. Also Wicked's.

I'm sure theres another one, but the shows I've been to lately don't have curtains.

I don't get why "American Idiot" used the house curtain? I assumed it would have a show curtain and I was a little disappointed when I walked in ad saw the red curtain. It just didn't seem to fit the concept of the show.

The text on the SOUTH PACIFIC show curtain is the first paragraph of Michener's TALES OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC. SO you can catch it in book form, if you want to.

I believe Oklahoma! was just a blue screen with clouds on it. The show's logo was projected on to the curtain during the Overture.

My fav is the original equity tour of Miss Saigon. If anyone has a photo of this it would make my week! Also love Legally Blonde and Phantom's pre-show set made me love the theatre.

To those who asked: A Little Night Music used no curtain, just an open stage with a chair for act 1, a black scrim during intermission, and a chair and trees for act 2
