Bare sheet music
Posted: 3/11/05 at 04:58pm
...is there any, or does anyone know if they're planning on making any?
I really wanted to sing "Touch My Soul" for my audition..oh well.
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

One word for you guys, CONNECTIONS! I'm with you all on the need of BARe sheet music. Unfortunately, even Michael Lavine, the God of sheet music (bless that man) is not allowed to release music from the show anymore which I'm sure is due to copyright violations...The only way I could think of is to ask around- I have a friend who works at Colony records and has some tunes from the show- Just wanted to put it out there for all my fellow fans!

Well, you've obviously found the means to obtain the sheet music for the song, but, if for some reason you DON'T end up getting it...

I'm a member of the website daretosing.com, and there were some people requesting the background track for "Touch My Soul" a while ago, so I recorded myself playing the piano part for it and posted it. If worse comes to worst, you could always sing along to that in your audition (assuming that you're allowed to bring your own accompaniment)... I included a link at the bottom of this post that will take you to the track. Whatever happens, break a leg! :)

hella good job on the piano playing...i wish i could play like that. i played from 1st to 8th grade but in 9th grade i had to chose between piano or voice lessons and i chose voice...so now i work on my own stuff and songs im really motivated on is what comes otu good. I'm playing broadway stuff far beyond the level of difficulty that i was when i quit just becaue i work on them, but put a mozart in front of me and im dead haha

magic8ball, I absolutely love the Touch My Soul Accompaniment! Is there any way you can do that to any of the other Ivy songs(Portrait of A Girl, All Grown Up, and/or One)?

"Is there any way you can do that to any of the other Ivy songs(Portrait of A Girl, All Grown Up, and/or One)?"

Well, "Portrait of a Girl" and "One" don't actually have much piano accompaniment (or, at least, enough to substantiate a backing track for a singer)... however, "All Grown Up" has a great piano part. When I get some free time, I'll see what I can do and PM you. :)

I finally got some free time, and the piano accompaniment for "All Grown Up" is now posted on daretosing.com for anyone interested.

Hi, I was wondering if you still have the score for Touch My Soul? I have an audition coming up and would really like to use it!
