Is the queen really passing the throne to Prince William and Kate?

Did King Charles the third partially predict the future?? https://www.yahoo.com/news/royal-announcement-william-kate-officially-021200634.html

But that doesn't matter, because we're all here. And with all of our differences we have one thing in common. We're all gay.

I truly believe that if circumstances necessitated the Queen taking a step back from public life and her royal duties, a regency will be established with Charles as Prince Regent before Elizabeth II ever considers abdicating the throne.

No, I don't think "the Queen" (she's not my Queen!) would ever abdicate. It doesn't seem to be in her DNA. Nobody ever thought a Pope would abdicate either, though, so stranger things have happened. If she does pre-decease her eldest son, I could see King Charles hanging on to the monarchy for maybe a few years and then abdicating in favor of William, in the same way that other European monarchs have done.

Queen Elizabeth would never pass the throne to William (can she even do that?) - I'm sure the Royals want William and his family to live as normally as possible for as long as possible before taking on that enormous burden.

Sick, pathetic POS

As long as she has her health and her wits she is sticking around ( and she is MY Queen) It doesn't seem to be in her DNA. Queen Elizabeth would never pass the throne to William (can she even do that?) ( NO- is the short answer  primogeniture  rules in this case for the male line though they have recently changed so the female can now be taken as the heir apparent) also  I'm sure the Royals want William and his family to live as normally as possible for as long as possible before taking on that enormous burden.

This is all tabloid nonsense being stirred up by the idea of having a Disney-inspired Prince and Princess take the throne while they're still young and attractive. It's not how it works. HM The Queen doesn't have the power to chose or change the line of succession as it's all decided in Parliament.

I believe people think the Monarchy should be held by someone young because HM The Queen took the throne when she was young and beautiful which reinforced the Disney-inspired idea that people have now. Unfortunately the Monarchy is and always always, bar a few exceptions, just a bunch of old men dying and passing the Crown to another old man. The only time a Monarch is young is, strangely, when a Queen Regent takes the reigns.
