DEH Question (Spoilers Maybe?)

Is the fact that Connor takes his own life a spoiler? Many of the synopses I've read for the show don't mention it, and the Easter Bonnet performance poked fun at it ("Connor Murphy? Aren't you Dead?", "Spoilers!", but Pasek and Paul don't seem to conceal the plot point when describing the show. Would someone really be disappointed if Connor's death was spoiled to them?

Even though it's pretty obvious it's not expressly spelled out in the cast album. I didn't know for a long while, and I thought it was going to be a big spoiler, but it happens pretty early on.

That being said, it's kind of a dick move to someone going in fresh

I always feel that with spoilers it's best to err on the side of caution - some people can be very sensitive to them. You can say that the show deals with themes of suicide, anxiety, depression etc. but I wouldn't go as far to say which character dies.

I don't think it's a huge spoiler, as it happens in the first fifteen minutes of the show, and it actually sets the entire plot. So if you want to know what the show is about before you go see it, there really is no way to avoid it because the entire plot is about that.

I think of a spoiler as something that ruins a "Surprise" plot twist in a story. I don't think Connor's suicide qualifies.

 

Possible examples (SPOILERS obviously): 

In Dear Evan Hansen, Evan broke his arm in a failed suicide attempt.

Gabe is already dead in NEXT TO NORMAL and only exists in Diana's head.

Ned Stark loses his head at the end of season one. 

The PLANET OF THE APES is really a futuristic Earth.

Holland is dead and Niles is just pretending to be him. 

Paltrow's head is in the box. 

Bruce Willis died at the beginning of the movie, so when the kid says "I see dead people", guess what? 

Now THOSE would be "Spoilers"!
