What time does Great Comet end |
By the time I turn my phone on (after bows and everything) it's usually 2 hours and 40 minutes. Depending on how far the bus is from the theater you might be pushing it a little. Though maybe you'll miss the crowds that get out their shows earlier in the night.

Port Authority? You'll have to hustle, but you can make it

That's really cutting it close, even if the show started right on time. No later buses?
If you're not sitting on stage you could maybe try and sneak out during curtain call to buy yourself some time?

It's 34th Street between 11 and 12 Ave
I don't know what bus line is at 34th b/w 11th and 12th, but I doubt it you can't get there by 11pm. You're talking 11 blocks south and 4 blocks west. Traffic and crowds are congested as all theaters are getting out at that time. And good luck getting a cab thru that traffic.
If you're taking the bus from the port authority, you should make it. I take the 11pm bus as well after every 8pm show. Check the gate number b/c they change the gates after 10pm. I will admit, I had to hustle to get out of theater and down 8th ave to be sure I got there in time. I got to my gate on the third floor by 10:55p. The show ends about 10:40.

That's the Megabus. There is a 7 subway line to Javits that's right by the Megabus pickup. But I don't think you'll make it unless you leave early.
Very doubtful. The blocks from 8th avenue to 12th avenue are very very long, probably equivalent to 2-3 streets if you are going north to south. According to Google maps, it's 1.2 miles by foot., a 24 minute walk if you can walk at normal speed the whole way. I don't think you've got any chance unless the bus leaves late.
When all else fails, you could always flat out run! I've done it before to make a train or a curtain, and not athletic at all. Skipping curtain call is also advisable, as long as you're in a seat that will allow you to leave somewhat discreetly.

No, you won't make Megabus by 11.
Thanks, guys! You saved me from wasting $15. Guess I have to do a airnb (My NYC friends aren't available to host me, poor planning on my part) or try to exchange my ticket for the afternoon show and miss Bandstand
Thank God, they switched my GREAT COMET show for the afternoon show, so I'm not stranded in the city. I'm not ready to do Airnb in the city yet. I'll do Bandstand a week later or something
You could see Dolls House Part 2, 1984, there are a few shorter shows that would still get you to your bus...

Good to know! I've been trying to see Anastasia and Great Comet again, but Anastasia would be cutting it very close with the stage door

It runs 2hours and 30 minutes, and starts 5 minutes late. Regardless of what time it starts.

disneybroadwayfan22 - I would also suggest "The Government Inspector" as something short that's also funny if you're not in the mood for a drama. It's at the New World Stages on 50th and you'll be out by 10:15pm. If you're coming before Aug. 20th and on a day that it's playing, of course. Check the usual spots for discount codes and it's at TKTS
Well, guys! I have a delightful ending.
So, the plan was to see Great Comet in the afternoon and go home yesterday. While heading to lunch at 12:00pm, I walked past Shubert Theater and decided to ask for standing room tickets for the hell of it. The answer? "2:00 or 8:00?" I was shocked that a) there were still standing room and b) Holy crap! I could see a legendary performance. Life is too short, so I bought SRO tickets for 8:00pm!
I had to miss the last scene to get to the 11:00 bus and guess what? It was literally just around the corner, so I got to the bus on time.
GUYS! The show is so so so magical! I'm so blessed that I saw Bette b/c holy sh*t, Bette as Dolly is indeed a legendary and again magical performance. Same with David Hyde Pierce.
