The show started hitting the million-dollar mark straight from the get-go, and none of the cast are well-known outside of the theater community, so there's no likely drop when someone leaves. I agree that it will have a solid multi-year run - even 5 years +.
Genuine question: Why does the show need Ramin's character? Yes, there needs to be a conflict or there's no story, but isn't the Princess Anastasia falling for Street Rat Dimitri good enough? There's conflict between staying a royal and following her heart. I never understood why the movie had the Rasputin character either. Both seem superfluous, and the show feels a bit long as is (but I did enjoy it). The elimination of that character would solve that problem.

I honestly loved Gleb's character, but I understand that he needed a bit more characterization/development/reason as to why he was actually there. I'm really glad they got rid of Rasputin though, he and the talking bat made zero sense. I guess they just wanted a bit more conflict to make the plot a little more interesting? Idk I enjoyed it.

I feel the same way about Gleb being unnecessary, just because you know how the story is going to end. I do appreciate what they tried to do with the character in terms of his motivation and arc, but at the end of the day, as the villain, he didn't drive the story and wasn't interesting enough for me.
Unlike the Rasputin character, who served his purpose. At least in my opinion, I do think the story needed some sort of "villain" that can be there from the start of the show. For me the "will she be accepted as a royal or fall for Dimitri" isn't enough of story either.
