Not sure how many others saw this... ALW posted a tweet to join his "insiders" thing and possibly win some ALW goodie bag. Have to admit, they've attempted to do this multiple times and it seems no matter how often I register, I never get any notification - but thought it's worth a try,

I'm not particularly interested in scoring a tote bag, but I entered because I was intrigued by the fact that they asked which ALW shows you've seen and which ones you would like to see. It's probably wishful thinking on my part, but just in case they're assessing interest in revivals, I said I want to see The Woman in White, Love Never Dies, Sunset Boulevard (again), and Stephen Ward. Now that I think of it, I should probably also have thrown in Aspects of Love and Whistle Down the Wind.

Had a similar feeling Lot -was curious with the questions and wondered what kind of "exclusives" they're going to share (I only wish they would share the Sydmonton concerts or something... but more than likely it's going to be Elaine Paige singing Memory again) It was interesting they added what shows do you want to see... Our lists were similar - I did add Aspects and WDTW though and left off Stephen Ward

"Aspects of Love" was the first Broadway musical I saw, back in Spring, 1990 shortly after it opened. Had great seats at a discounted price (that should have been a red flag so early on in the run), and I think I fell asleep half way through. It was dreadful (though I did become a fan of Michael Ball). I couldn't believe ALW was behind that snoozefest! (I was familiar with his cast recordings of JCS, Evita, and Phantom at that point.)

About 6 months later, I did see 'Phantom' and believed in the magic of ALW once again.

That's interesting... chalk it up to the "different strokes for different folks" - Aspects of Love was the first musical I ever saw on Broadway - as my parents trying to expand my "cultural experiences" in High School.  Had no idea anything about it other than the 30 second commercial clip and seeing that the guy who wrote that other show that we couldnt get tickets for at the time (Phantom) wrote this one.  I was so blown away by it.  I remember at the end of Act I  being shocked that over an hour had flown by - the music and the bizarre story just had me completely in a different world.  Maybe it was the first theatrical experience or what - but that's why Aspects is still a favorite (although I see the story problems and lyric issues  a heck of  alot more now then I did then)

Will agree with you though on Phantom.  When I finally saw it for the first time - a full two years later (ah the old days when you had to wait a good 6 months to get tickets for Phantom) I was blown away.
