Hi! I am heading to New York in August and already have tickets to the The Great Comet, and I was looking to get opinions on what else to see. I would definitely prefer something on the cheaper side (under $100 per ticket would be great) so I'm open to straight plays as well!

I have already seen Waitress, BOM, and Dear Evan Hansen and I have no interest in Miss Saigon or Hello Dolly.

Groundhog Day and Bandstand are both really fun!

Groundhog Day for sure!

I third Groundhog Day, it's at TKTS for under $100.  Close to curtain you can get great center orchestra seats.

You're already seeing the best new show, so you're already off to a good start...

Doll's House Part 2 is usually a cheap(er) ticket, no clue how the new cast is yet, though. Was an easy rush when I saw it.

I really loved Groundhog Day, and it is growing on me more and more now that I'm listening to the OBCR. Lottery is easy to win, and if you don't the lottery loser seats are arguably even better than the winners (albeit $30 more, but still in the $60s)

Bandstand is a fun show, albeit not my favorite, but I picked up a ticket at around 5p for the evening show for $35, partial view, front row of mezz.

Andy Karl is such a dream, and he is SO kind. I support the show as much as I can because of that.  It's really a great show regardless, and it fits your budget!  If you go, I hope you enjoy the hell out of it!  Oh, and I totally understand your non interest in Dolly.  Have you heard their cast recording?  YUCK.

I'd highly recommend seeing Anastasia. If you're seeing 18th century Russia, why not see 19th century Russia too? Lol.

There are mezz tickets for $99 available in August still (not obstructed view either - avoid box tickets which are usually $109).

Groundhog Day is alright. I will agree that Andy Karl seems super nice, unfortunately that doesn't elevate the material though.

I think the best shows on Broadway right now are plays... A Doll's House part 2 is brilliant and The Play That Goes Wrong is hysterical. Both have rush tickets that are around $30.

Always Groundhog Day.

The Play That Goes Wrong is absolutely hysterical, too.

Thoughts on School of Rock, 1984, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Doll's House Part 2??

Give Bandstand and Anastasia a try! Both are excellent shows (although I've only seen Anastasia, Bandstand has a beautiful recording and covers important subject matters) Tickets to Anastasia can be a little more expensive than you'd like, but it's totally worth it!
