July 20th ? - Uck the Police#2- "Dunkirk"-Truth To Power?? |
Thanks for this post!
Since they seem to have deleted my earlier post, here was the story I linked about the police:

Rarely do I agree with such media outlets as these, but since this is a "guest" reviewer..."Dunkirk is a masterful film that will forever contribute to the public understanding of war."

I too, came to this nauseous, moving and tearful conclusion by the end of this movie.
[Rulers like "Hitler" will never be extinct; case in point...? It can happen again.]
I saw this movie last night and loved it. What a compelling, intense experience.
This film probably just took The Prestige's spot in my top 3 favorite Christopher Nolan films. The others being The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. I saw it in a DOLBY Theatre and I thought that just heightened the experience.
Just thinking about this movie... I did find difficulty in differentiating everyone between their brown hair and British accents. They all seemed like the same people.

I am a fan of Nolan and I thought the film evoked WWII incredibly well. But I will say that I know the history behind the events, and those who attended the movie with me were alternately bored and lost about what was actually going on. The three different time lines were not presented very clearly. I only understood the approach by reading reviews after seeing the movie. I appreciate the vivid movie aspects but thought the storytelling was just a little too diffuse for those who do not already know the history behind it.
