Waitress on Tour

I'm very curious to see who they will get for the Waitress touring cast. Any ideas? Has anybody heard anything about it yet?

Idk what her schedule is like, but it'd be awesome for Sara to do the first like 3 months or start the tour off. Probably won't happen but it would be cool.

I already exchanged my Waitress season tix for another show.  Saw this show with Jessie and once is about enough, so overrated.  I love Jessie in Beautiful though!

Super excited to see this on tour. Enjoy the music but would definitely not pay Broadway prices for it. Can't wait to hear who will star as Jenna.

I agree 100%. Abby is very talented, and shouldn't be constantly compared to Jessie. As for Jenna on tour, I'd love for Lindsay Mendez to take it on! Jackie Burns could hit it out of the park as well.

Would love to see Jenna Leigh Green do it. I originally said she'd be great on Broadway but it's probably more likely she'd be considered for the tour.

I would not be surprised if they pull a something rotten and close on Broadway right before opening the tour with Betsy and some of the other Broadway stars headling

It's the Weisslers. They'll make a revolving door of D-listers on short contracts, or run it into the ground with a contestant from The Voice before they close a show with dignity.

Doesn't the tour open in October? If Betsy is on a six month contract that would take her till December. I'm not sure that will happen.

Depends on what's in the contract. There could be a "tour option" that the producers have a right to exercise. They've done it before

Whoever said it could be Stephanie Torns might be right. She is still listed on the Waitress musical website as part of the cast but on IBDB where it shows the current Betsy Wolfe cast she is not listed.

I would trust the show's site before IBDB. I've found several inaccuracies there.

Stephanie did a press event in Philly on Monday performing some songs from Waitress and I asked her if this meant she was doing the tour and she said no.

Jessica has stated multiple times that Jenna is her dream role and would kill to be a part of it. I can only dream it happens!!

Steaphanie might've said no because she couldnt say yes yet keep in mind. That said, i'd KILL to see Jessica Vosk as Jenna omg. Knowing how Diane Paulus has casted her other shows for Broadway and on tour...I can see a few of these scenerios being done.

Jenna: Jackie Burns, Jessica Vosk, (might be extreme but Lena Hall), Erin Davie, Teal Wicks, Morgan Weed, Haven Burton

Becky: Carly Hughes (if/when she's done with TV..shes also a great dancer and this isnt a dancing role so...), Bre Jackson, Kathryn Gallagher(prob wont happen I just wanna hear her sing that song so badely), Carrie Compere, Phyre Hawkins

Dawn: Morgan Weed, Calian Rose, Molly Jobe(current understudy), Dana Steingold (shes in Ave Q now but I'd LOVE to see her in this) Kristolyn Lloyd

Joe: PJ Benjamin, Lenny Wolpe, 

Dr Potammer: Theo Stockman, Richard H Blake, Jonah Platt??, Bryce Pinkam (involved in initial reading) Billy Tighe

Earl: Matt DeAngellis....unknown.....maybe Joe Tippit will continue? 

Cal: Maybe bring Joe Cassidy back? 

Ogie: Jeremy Morse (current understudy/ role at ART), Andrew Kober? Brian Seers?

With Networks managing the tour, I wouldn't get my hopes up for many recognizable names in the cast.

Ethan - That definitely did cross my mind when she said that, but I guess we will have to wait and see. I've never seen Stephanie in a leading role [in Wicked or Waitress] but she really killed it on Monday and I'd love to see her play Jenna on tour.

As reported, Stephanie said doing the press event did not mean she was doing the tour.  This is completely true. Doing the press events has NOTHING to do with the tour. Stephanie has been doing almost all the press event both in and out of NYC since the beginning when Jessie was still there. Besides seeing her as Jenna (and Dawn) on Broadway, I've also seen her perform at Grand Central station, Bryant Park and various other city venues as early as spring 2016. She has been out of own at various other press events as well. 

I'm still hoping she gets to take over Jenna on Broadway for a while when Betsy leaves. But in terms of the tour, her answer was really a non answer.
