Does anyone remember the old forum Musicals.net? I was addicted to that site as a tender teenager and lately I've been wondering if anybody migrated onto here when the site died out.
There was opinionated Salome, Pannic the bass, the notorious Beagle on Stage, young blonde SmallTownIngenue, and bromancers Trevor and Matthew...
Anyone want to reveal themselves? I was SomeoneLikeYou!
I posted there before I joined here, but hardly remember much about it. I rmemeber the traffic decreasing rapidly over time, presumably because people migrated here.

It also did not benefit the board that they split discussion into show-specific subforums. Dozens of them.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
You're acting like that wasn't always the case; there were always show-specific subforums going back to when it was a student site at MIT. The biggest shake-up was creating categories for ALW, R&H, the (then-)current Broadway season, etc.
Eh... far as I'm concerned, at a time when there weren't a lot of other fan sites specifically devoted to certain shows, it was a boon. Later, as fan communities became new (far more frightening) animals with homes of their own, it outlived its purpose and became a flaw.
It was always kind of fun to watch the Les Miz board get posts and posts throughout the day, and shows like Grease the The Fantasticks would get one a week, then one a month.

I actually ran into someone at a party in my neighborhood a couple years ago who used to post there. We remembered each other when we mentioned our handles. It was funny because we have one mutual friend (it was her birthday party), who I met through theatre but who she met through a local sports team.

I'm currently doing a show with another former MDNer, our second together actually. We eventually realized each other's identities when we couldn't quite pin down how we knew each other but had actually never met.
I also ran into someone from another forum I was on (the now defunct The Guilty Ones, a Spring Awakening fan forum) at a big unified audition a few years ago. I still keep in touch with a few old posters on social media. We all made it through high school, college, and are just now starting our careers.
As for me I'm still blonde, but older and hopefully wiser. :)
