Doing Top of the Rock and Staute of Liberty in one day

Hello! 

I swear I'll stop looking for tourist advice here soon.  ??

Fellow NYC tourists (or adventurous locals), I booked my tickets to the Statue of Liberty ferry for next Tuesday at 12 pm, since it seems to be sunniest day of my stay. I was thinking of getting Top Of the Rock tickets for that day as well, but I wonder if there's enough time for both if I get timed tickets for the latter at, say, 8:30 am. Or is something like 4 PM better? Is it doable? Is it too much to take in?

Are you just going to the statue or actually climbing up to the pedestal?  If climbing up, involves alot more time.  I personally would have started my day earlier.  Getting to Battery Park earlier so that you actually arrive earlier to the statue (but maybe still be there around  (11-12)  I know you want to be there when it is the sunniest.  Your 12:00 ferry may not arrive until closer (once you are able to exit) to 1:00.  When I did Top of the Rock years ago, it was new and not very crowded.  They only took up a small amount of people at one time.  That may have changed since I did it. But if it remains a sunny day you could easily do both.You would have to do Top of the Rock very early and still get down to Battery Park or later in the day.  If you get a timed ticket.  But again, I don't know if you are going up the statue.  That will eat up alot of your time   UPDATE:  The more I thought about it I would visit Top of the Rock another day.  Your statue ticket should also include Ellis Island and this is extremely interesting to visit.

I am not going up to the crown of the Statue (turns out those tickets are sold out for months). Actually, the noon ticket was the earliest I was able to get. I should have thought about this before, but I thought it was the kind of thing you just showed up to buy.

I had not thought about Ellis Island, so I think you're right and go to the Rock on a different day. Thanks a lot for your advice!

Top of the Rock is o0en until midnight. The nighttime view from up there is amazing! Tou should have plenty of time to get to the Statue, do Elis Island and end the day at 30 Rock.

Is that all?  If I were planning this, I would spend the morning checking out downtown (WTC, Seaport, Wall Street, etc) then do the Statue AND Ellis Island, then do a Little Italy dinner, then see a Broadway show at 8 (duh??) then do Top of the Rock.

SNAFU, I'm thinking of getting that ticket that allows you to go both at day and night. Is it worth it?

Phatom4Ever, I do have a show at 7 (At the Schoenfeld), that's why I'm so scared of not having enough time for both. I've heard a lot about super long lines and wait times at NYC attractions and I can't help but wonder if that applies to those two. I do appreciate your suggestions for exploring all downtown at once.

There are sometimes a short line at Top of the Rock. Nothing too crazy. I have been to the Top of the Rock both during the day and at night. I preferred night time better.
