"So tell me why he should have gotten fired but Kathy Griffin should have kept her CNN job."

Donald Trump refused to rent apartments to black people and was accused of rape and sexual assault by numerous women. Now he's the President of the United States. So tell me why he should have that job and Kathy Griffin shouldn't have hers for a picture.

You can deflect and bring up some other idiot who lost their job, but that's only because you have a hard time defending the person currently in the Oval Office.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Once again, I do not run FOX News and I am not POTUS so you need to ask them. All I can say is Ted Nugent was wrong, don't know what else you expect me to do - lol.
"

Acknowledge the double standard. What Griffin did was not any worse than what Nugent has been saying and doing for a decade. The Right wants her to fry and then they want Nugent to give them his opinion about it on tonight's Hannity.

"You don't get to take the high ground when conservatives still blow their load all over Ted Nugent."

Spot on...I'm done allowing them to control the narrative especially with Trump and Nugent as their proxies.

It's not a mystery to many here that I'm a Libertarian but the GOP has absolutely no probity left at this point...none!!!

All political feelings aside, all feelings about Kathy Griffin aside, my first initial reaction to the image is: "ewe ...well that's pretty gross."

I'm not offended by it, and I do agree with what the image is trying to say (even if its pretty blunt),  but Certainly there has to be smarter, funnier, more effective ways to air your feelings about the current administration than by brandishing a bloody 'severed' prosthetic head of a current president.

SNAFU said: "Liza please, the head could have been anyone. You had to be told it was Trump. It was a ****ty latex mask that barely looks like him without being covered in blood.

Uncle Charlie, she made a statement. She was wrong and she herself admitted it and apologized. Did Trump  when he "JOKINGLY" sayd that the Second Amendment people should deal with Hillary?

Snafu, my comment was strictly about Foxx's comment using the she's just a comedian defense and that it rang hollow for me. It was not saying Trump and his supporters aren't just as bad if not worse. If you go back to my 1st comment in this thread, I specifically call out the ridiculous hypocrisy of the right. Trump says more horrific things in a day than Griffin has in her life.

She apologized and that's fine, end of discussion although now she's going the "I'm a victim" route and her proclaiming that what has happened to her "has never, ever happened in the history of this great country" is as laughable as it is tone-deaf. I think the Dixie Chicks among a long list of others would.love to have a word with her.

I've always found both Kathy and the late Joan Rivers as tacky and tasteless as Trump but he's POTUS.  In that capacity, he should be beyond reproach to the extent possible.  He doesn't even make the effort.  Kathy will land on both feet mainly because Trump himself has ushered in a new era in which there are no boundaries left in the commons.

Griffin hired Lisa Bloom, not Gloria Allred, as her attorney.  Bloom is Allred's daughter.  Bloom was the person with Griffin at the news conference.

Bloom's just taking over the family business. They're the same person with the same need to get their face in front of a camera as much as humanly possible. But Kathy's no babe in the woods either. She knows exactly what she's doing.

Quite simple, whether we like it or not the American people voted for Donald Trump fully aware of his past.

Not saying Kathy is a Babe in the Woods. Her attempt at getting attention worked though not quite in the way she had hoped. Now she is playing her hand. She will survive. We are busy talking about this but not watching Trump threatening Executive Privilege to keep Comey from testifying.

I have been watching portions of her press conference on Inside Edition. etc.  I find her playing the victim, kind of pathetic.  She made the decision to go with the "joke".  It could have gone either way for her and unfortunately for her went the negative route.  She had to know that Trump is the type not to let a negative remark fly by without retaliation.  She will survive as others have mentioned.  She may even sell more tickets to her shows.  But she is hardly a victim.

I would argue that if she's being bullied on Twitter by the POTUS and first family, getting credible death threats, and losing her livelihood, all over a sardonic photo that she admitted went over the line and immediately apologized for, she is, in fact, a victim.

Luscious, I don't know if I agree. The way I interpret the word victim, it's the one who did nothing wrong. She' s free to express herself, but then she has to deal with the reaction.

Jane I agree. However why the hell does the President of the United States have to Twitter about her? There's where he crosses the line. I would hope, holding the office of President would be more important then Kathy Griffin's dumb assed stunt!

The man is a vengeful child. I believe his intent is to destroy all the good Obama did because of A)Jealousy and B) he made fun at Trump during a Press dinner and everyone laughed at him. Trump does hold childish grudges Koff:Rosie O'Donnell:Koff.

Death threats, and bullying are inexcusable. But this stunt is indicative of Kathy's track-record and her MO.

Kathy's previous kerfuffles, mainly celebrity feuds and bans from television talk shows, like The View (that she's always used as fodder for her sometimes hilarious, sometimes not, stand-up) have always seemed rather tame to me, but now she's joined the likes of Ted Danson in blackface at the 1993 Friars Club Roast of Whoopi Goldberg (which was Whoopi's idea), Rosanne Barr mock-singing the National Anthem, and Kramer's racist rant at the Laugh Factory.

Their careers never quite recovered.

I don't agree with the bullying or death threats. Like I said, inexcusable, and she has apologized. But on some level, as a self proclaimed "media whore," "****-stirrer," and "whistle blower," (all terms she's used to describe herself) Kathy is enjoying this attention and has elicited the exact results she wanted.

It seems these traits have been Ms. Griffin's greatest assets, but the ones that always seem to land her in hot water as well.

Consequently, I didn't buy those tears at that press conference for one second. "He broke me.....(dramatic pause pause pause, look up)....he broke me." Tears!

lol. Come on Kathy. Really girl?

In the age of "all press is good press" Kathy is "hot" again, and I can't help but wonder if she's using this to cook up a lucrative netflix deal.

And yea, I'll watch!!

Her entire career, as I see it, is based on making fun of people-viscious gossip and such. I couldn't feel sorry for her if you paid me. Maybe she learned a lesson-you can push people only so far until someone scares you.

IMO, If the punishment doesn't fit the crime, then you're the victim. If you intentionally drive the wrong way down a one way street and are pulled over by a police officer, and you apologize for making the mistake, and are still given a ticket...then OK. You have to pay for your mistake. But if said police officer verbally abuses you, roughs you up, and arrests you for being belligerent, or whatever, then you're the victim. She made a mistake. She admitted it and apologized for it. End of story. When did we become such a judgmental and unforgiving society? Jeesh... as if everyone doesn't make a bad decision or do the wrong thing from time to time. There but for the grace of God go I. (I agree with the sentiment even though I'm an atheist.)

Luscious, yeah, I understand your analogy but I don't think it's all cut and dry like that. Kathy Griffin thrives on being a verbal bully and getting attention for it. It's hard to see her as a victim. Public apologies from celebrities are usually advised by said celeb's staff. Anyway, i hardly see them as sincere.

I may be biased in that I never liked the woman anyway.sad

I understand where you're coming from, Jane2. It's difficult to separate one's personal feelings about someone in situations like this. But to me, Griffin is a comedian. You may not care for her brand of humor, and that's perfectly fine, but I honestly believe that all she really wants to do is make people laugh. And of course, make a lot of $$$ doing it!. Kathy Griffin's photo  She's an insult comic, like Joan Rivers and many other comedians before her. But what she did wasn't even a crime. It may have been in extremely poor taste, and for that she'll have to suffer the consequences of her actions. I even understand why CNN, being a news organization, had to cut their ties with her. But she doesn't deserve to be targeted by the POTUS and his family, receive death threats, or lose her livelihood over it. I honestly believe that if she was a male comedian, this would not have been so offensive to so many people, especially in light of an immediate apology. But, of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
