Any word on who will hold the licensing rights to Amelie?

I don't think we will here about that for a bit. It could follow a similar path like Tuck Everlasting which closed at the end of May and the rights were officially given to Sam French at the end of August if I remember correctly.

I would guess the producers might hold to the first class rights for a while before licensing the show. They might be hoping for a major production overseas, or even (they can hope) a tour of some kind - possibly with the aim of revising the material further.  It took a while before WOMEN ON THE VERGE was licensed to MTI, and they are still not making the title available.

Spot on, though I think it will be perhaps a German or Australian production. The West End is heavily impacted by the success of the show on Broadway and the national tour I don't think is likely unless a show has recouped a decent portion of it on Broadway. (Sunset was rumored to have recovered 80%, Finding Neverland supposedly recouped over 70%, etc)

Isn't Tuck Everlasting through MTI, not Sam French?

I DID see a college production of Women on the Verge last year, however; so the rights had to come from somewhere.

No--- Tuck is a Sam French title, as is Miller&Tysen's Fugitive Songs. The Burnt Part Boys is an MTI title.

I was hoping to mount a production spring 2018. Here's to hoping MTI holds the title because Sam French can be unbearable to work with

The vocal selections book from AMELIE has just been released...it may not mean anything, or perhaps it's an indicator that licensing info can't be far off?

WHEN will Daniel Messé, Nathan Tysen, and Craig Lucas let me, a chubby twenty year old gay man, play the title role, huh?!? The time has come.

They/them. "Get up the nerve to be all you deserve to be."
