Hello! I'm new to these boards so please don't shoot if I'm breaking the rules (though I read them and I'm confident this is allowed).
I have built a website aimed at helping theatre directors automate cast logistics from auditions through rehearsal scheduling.
Cast98.com has been a labor of love for the past year, and here's how it works:
Performers create an online profile (including a conflict calendar) and sign up for auditions that a director has posted.
The director sees all auditionees on a dashboard and can pull up their profile as well as take notes during each performer's live audition.
The director builds the cast list, and doing so automatically imports cast member conflicts into the schedule builder for easy day-by-day comparison.
The director publishes the rehearsal schedule and cast members see a personalized schedule with their rehearsals highlighted, and can export them to Google/Apple/Yahoo/Outlook calendars.
Feedback I've Gotten
Directors love that they can immediately turnaround from building the cast list to scheduling rehearsals; there's no downtime because conflict calendars sync with the schedule automatically. They also appreciate having pre-formatted cast bios, preventing another tedious task.
Performers love that they don't have to start from scratch with profile information and cast bios every show, and that they can see their rehearsals highlighted on the schedule. Editing one's profile + conflicts from a phone is popular among millennials, whoda thunk it...
I've gotten very positive feedback from the folks I invited to beta test: a show with 102 cast members had a really good overall experience, and I've been making weekly improvements since then.
Automate Auditions For Free
Using Cast98 for automated online auditions is absolutely FREE so I invite you to give it a try on your next production cycle! It's never too early to sign up, add your studio, and post your next show - performers can't sign up to audition until you turn on that feature each show.
