While we have still been gushing about "Feud", "Fargo" is back on FX and so far, this season it's absolutely GREAT! I don't want to spoil anything, but this season's story, super writing, and this cast is so good. This story is set in 2010 and so effing funny too.
Carrie Coon is going to be some hot competition for Jessica Lange (if they end up being in the same year ?) Ewan McGregor plays twin brothers, Mary Elizabeth Winstead; this week brought in the great Francis Fisher, also Ray Wise...and the unbelievable animated dream sequences.
I'm so glad that FX and WL have given Noah Hawley such a broad scope. He is such an original "mind" in television today. It's only 3 episodes in ; I'd binge the whole thing if I could.
FX has a handful of outstanding shows, Legion (also Noah Hawley), Americans, Baskets, even Taboo is strangely weird. I think Fargo is so enjoyably the best.
Also, wild to see Carrie Coon make her entrance with challenges getting into an automated sensor door (with repeated similar trouble in that first episode), just after the Leftovers episode in which she was having similar constant technical challenges.
This season keeps getting better and better. The scenes with Nikki and Ray (Mary Elizabeth & Ewan) are just gold. "We have to wear the wigs to keep our faces "absurd". I almost peed my pants! Carrie Coon also...they are killing it!
I don't know the whole history of Twin Peaks, I'm looking forward to seeing it; but this season of Fargo is worth the wait.
