Kelly Ripa finally picks a cohost and its Ryan Seacrest |
I don't like him. I didn't even think of him.
Perhaps Kelly is planning to retire in the next few years and is looking for a known commodity who can take over the show. If that's the case, Seacrest is the ideal choice.
Perfect but I'm surprised he took it. Must be the huge bucks. (as if he needs bucks)

Uninspired but a smart business move.
So every morning, she'll talk about her kids, and he'll talk about what?
Coming soon: LIVE with Ryan
Taking this gig definitely means moving to New York, and perhaps reducing some of his other commitments.
"I'd like to see more Seacrest on TV." - nobody, ever
I feel like Seacrest is a celebrity that nobody asked for, but who was just sort of foisted on us. "Here's this vapid blond guy! You'll watch him and you'll like it!"

I never liked him, especially after Kathy Griffin described how he grabbed her breasts at some awards show., LOL.
People still watch LIVE?!?! Just cancel it already and expand GMA to 10am.
^i imagine that was their original intent with moving michael to GMA

^^^ No comment on Seacrest but YOU scolding others about having mental problems is pretty rich and quite ironic. Consider the source, ladies and gentlemen....

I like him.
I don't really have an opinion about Seacrest. I don't like or dislike him. However it was a smart move by ABC and Live's producers to hire him. Kelly has had a PR nightmare for the last couple of years. Her fake personality came out and she is no longer everyone's sweetheart. Ryan, on the otherhand, despite his blandness has a huge likability factor and a built in fan base. I am confident he will help the ratings. I will be in the audience May 18 during my annual visit to NYC. I will be curious to see when the cameras aren't rolling if he is indeed friendly.

Wasn't that exactly what she said in the NY Times article? That she is in fact considering retirement and needed someone who could steer the ship after her?
Let me also add, not only did they pay big bucks for him, they're building a radio studio (to move him from LA) into the same building LIVE tapes in.
Can Seacrest really be fun on air? He is just like Dick Clark - kind of bland and safe in his interviews.
I'm still bitter Kelly didn't pick Seth Meyers from the first time. This choice just seems so bland and boring. Even David Muir would have made a more interesting choice.

You need to think before you hit "post".
As for the choice? Snore. I'm not a fan as I find him disingenuous and bland.
