Update: Today (Sat.), the 1st one in line for rush at ''Sunday in the Park'' was Matt. He said my story inspired him to try it, so he got there last night at 10 and wound up with tickets at 10 a.m. Matt says the woman in the Hudson box office was nice and friendly, and told him that there would be rush for ''Sunday's'' closing tomorrow, too.

A friend of mine is currently in rush line for the closing and got there at 9:30pm and was sixth in line. The first person got there at 8pm per him.

I stopped by the Hudson Theatre late last night, and the 1st person in line was a young woman who says she got there at 5 p.m. Even at midnight, there were already over a dozen people in line. Assuming the box office sells only about 10 rush tickets, unless you're among the very first handful in line, it's folly to wait overnight.

By the way, since ''Sunday in the Park'' is closing today (Sun.), it's been holding a fire sale on its show souvenirs. Mugs (which were once $20) are going for $5. T-shirts, $10. Posters, $10. ... If you wanna get anything (and don't have a ticket to the closing performance), you might want to try waiting until the matinee lets out, and then go inside to buy what's left. Otherwise, I imagine any leftover collectibles might go to the Broadway Flea Market in the fall.

Sweet. I'm attending today, but bought a ticket rather than waiting overnight, heh. Good to know!

If this is the final BC/EFA day, do those prices drop, too?! SUNDAY in the Dark for Rush: Or How Fans Slept Their Way to See Sondheim

What a big difference from the first day of previews back in February! It wasn't a freezing morning (from what I recall mid-40s) and I arrived at around 5am. I'd say the 7th person arrived around 6am and we all claimed the 14 front row seats in center orchestra. Yes back then the rush was for front row. :)

They even gave creme puffs 10-20 mins before 10am. I hope everyone who slept over managed to get a ticket to see this show. From my understanding, stasnding room is not possible at the Hudson?

All this is so funny. About a month ago, I went to the box office and bought a $49 balcony seat and they had a bunch available.

I know, right? I  waited a few weeks after the brilliant reviews came out, and I  still had my pick of $49 seats. This was never a Hamilton situation where you had to be online at 10 AM or whatever.

If anyone is curious, I attended the show on Wed and they were already out of signed posters but had sketches for $750 (Dot sketch $1,000).

Yesterday's Saturday matinee had all sketches at $500.

No BCEFA after today's final performance.
