Jon Jon Briones-Miss Saigon Josh Groban-Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 Andy Karl-Groundhog Day David Hyde Pierce-Hello, Dolly! Ben Platt-Dear Evan Hansen
If you ask me, Ben Platt is about as much of a favorite to win as Cynthia Erivo was last year.
Seems like a pretty straightforward category this year."
This is the category. I think Borle gets in for FALSETTOS.

Is Groban eligible for Leading? Sorry for my ignorance...the role is pretty slim...
And Corey Cott should be in the conversation for a nomination. He has really grown into a leading man. His performance has truly stuck with me since I saw Bandstand 10 days ago.

Might be the smart move politically..."
They didn't petition it, so he's Leading. Smart move, he'll get a nomination, and it allows Lucas Steele to get in the Featured category for COMET.

I loved Groban in The Great Comet and I thought that his performance was wonderful, but I keep finding myself thinking that Borle deserves a nomination for his performance in Falsettos, which moved me to tears. Borle has the meatier. Groban's part is kind of a glorified supporting part. I think that Platt, Pierce, Karl, and Briones are all nearly locks. It will really come down to that last slot.
I think most people agree that Platt, Karl, Groban, Pierce, and Briones are the most likely ones right now, but if someone is going to replace one of them on this list, it's going to be Corey Cott. I don't see Borle getting a nomination at all this year.

Yeah. Thankfully those people are probably not Tony voters.
Seriously though, Borle was great the night that I saw him. He was deeply invested in the part and actually reminded me of a friend of mine who was in a similar situation as his Marvin. I found his performance to be quite powerful, especially in the acting department. I wouldn't be surprised to see him land a nomination.
Corey Cott has unfortunately found himself in an extremely vanilla show (as has Laura Osnes). The competition from Borle and Groban will most likely overpower him. I would be surprised if he were to land a nom.
